He’s Back: Islam’s “Public Enemy #1”
Posted by Raymond Ibrahim on Jul 22nd, 2011
Father Zakaria Botros, also known as Islam’s “Public Enemy #1,” is back.
From around 2005-2010, this 76 year-old Coptic priest was Islam’s bane. Appearing weekly on Arabic satellite, where he was viewed by an estimated 60 million people worldwide, mostly Muslims, he meticulously exposed any number of theological problems with Islam—all from Islam’s own books—while simultaneously evangelizing from his own book, the Bible.
His mission “is to attack Islam, not to attack Muslims but to save them because they are deceived. As I love Muslims, I hate Islam.”

Schengen-aftalen strider imod enhver form for sund fornuft.
‘Elite’ EU border guards sent to Europe’s crisis spots are powerless to stop migrants
By Jack Doyle on 1st August 2011
They are an elite cadre of EU immigration guards sent to police border hotspots with hi-tech surveillance equipment.
But officers in the multi-million pound Rapid Border Intervention Team are in fact powerless to turn migrants away or send them back to their home countries, a report reveals today.
The team was sent to Greece in November to help control the surge of migrants heading for continental Europe through the Turkish border – including many heading for the UK.

Illegal immigration: “We can no longer hold Europe’s southeast flank”
by Nicolai Sennels – June 29, 2011
The “Arab Spring” has unleashed an unprecedented wave of illegal immigrants heading for Europe. The fall or weakening of several dictators has resulted in loosened security, which allows people to flee the Islamic societies. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have already entered the EU, and hundreds of thousands more are on their way.

EU: Member states must remain defenceless against Islamic exodus

All gas stations and toll booths on bridges have cameras. But according to EU’sSchengen agreement there should be no cameras in the most natural of all places, namely border crossings.

Left uses Breivik to limit opposition’s freedom of speech
By Diana West | July 30, 2011
Tuesday’s online edition of the New York Times reported that Geir Lippestad, the defense lawyer for admitted Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik, called his client’s massacre “an attack on the Labor Party.”
This first credible assessment of motive is a significant piece of the story. So why did the New York Times cut it from the final version of the story online and in Wednesday’s newspaper?

The Manifesto of Anders Behring Breivik
The Oslo killer, in his own words…
Adrian Morgan – July 29, 2011
On Friday July 22, 2011, shortly before he primed the car bomb in Regjeringskvartalet, Oslo’s governmental administration district, Anders Behring Breivik posted his “manifesto” online. He then drove to the shore of Tyrifjorden lake, where he boarded a boat, dressed in a police uniform. The bomb had blown up in Oslo, killing seven people, by the time he arrived on the small island of Utoya, and proceeded to systematically shoot dead the young people attending a Labour Party summer camp.
When he placed his manifesto online, Behring also uploaded a video presentation which gave a simplified version of his beliefs.

Sammenhold! Eftertanke!
Ufatteligt. Forstemmende.

Norway Terror Attack: Lessons and Illusions
July 26, 2011 – by Barry Rubin
Once one gets beyond the polemics and clichés, there is a huge amount that could be learned from an honest discussion about the mass murders in Norway. Let’s look at some of them.
An editorial in the New York Daily News contains both valid points and dangerous silliness. It begins:
In his ravings, Anders Behring Breivik, confessed to having murdered 76 people, repeats a familiar refrain: He killed to save his country, his continent and Western civilization itself from an attempted takeover by Islam.
The trouble with a 1500-page manifesto is that one can find almost anything in it. For example, people, groups, and sites who have been cited once or twice in that manifesto are now being called complicit with the murders. In the case of one group in that position, Breivik actually attacked them for being non-violent! Another author in the United Kingdom had two articles footnoted by the killer that didn’t even deal with Islam. Now people are being incited to go after her in revenge.

The Oslo Connection
by Srdja Trifkovic • July 28th, 2011
In his 1,500-page European Declaration of Independence mass murderer Anders Behring Breivik approvingly quotes me and several other authors who have written critically about Islam, including Bat Ye’or, Robert Spencer, Andrew Bostom and Ayaan Hirsi Ali. The exploitation of the connection followed promptly. “Norwegian butcher a product of Islamophobia” was last Monday’s banner headline in the Zaman, Turkey’s leading pro-government daily. On Tuesday The New York Times published a major feature article (“Killings in Norway Spotlight Anti-Muslim Thought in U.S.”) which claimed that the mass killings in Norway have focused new attention “on the subculture of anti-Muslim bloggers and right-wing activists”:

Leftist attempts to smear the Right over Anders Breivik are contemptible and wrongheaded
The European Left is desperate to make capital out of the Norwegian killer’s depravity. But he’s the product of a Europe built by them
Written by Robin Shepherd on 1 August 2011
Few people on the European Left have spoken with greater candour about their “palpable relief” that the recent massacre in Norway was not carried out by an Islamist terrorist but instead by a blond haired “Christian fundamentalist” than British Labour MP Tom Harris. Writing just three days after the killing spree took place, he said: “Here, thank God, was a terrorist we can all hate without equivocation: white, Christian and far right-wing.”
In the days that followed, relief turned to finger pointing. By Tuesday, the recently launched Huffington Post UK had run a piece by Charles Delalande castigating influential right-wing commentators such as London Mayor Boris Johnson, Melanie Phillips and Douglas Murray for either downplaying Breivik’s atrocities by dismissing them as the work of a madman, or for being conspicuously reluctant to make any comment at all.

One more mass killer, one more drug-addled mind
Peter Hitchens on 1st August 2011
It’s the drugs, stupid. In hundreds of square miles of supposed analysis of the Norway mass murder, almost nobody has noticed that the smirking Anders Breivik was taking large quantities of mind-altering chemicals.
In this case, the substances are an anabolic steroid called stanozolol, combined with an amphetamine-like drug called ephedrine, plus caffeine to make the mixture really fizz.

Det skriver Gallup:
If this pattern continues, 2011 will be the third straight year that conservatives significantly outnumber moderates — the next largest ideological bloc. Liberalism has been holding steady for the past six years, averaging either 21% or 22%, although notably higher than the 17% average seen in Gallup polling during the early to middle ’90s.
Outnumber moderates? Konservative er altså ikke moderate. Hvad er vi så? Populister?

Tea Party Movement as Large as Nation’s Entire Liberal Population, Say Gallup Polls
By Terence P. Jeffrey – August 05, 2011
The percentage of Americans who expressly state that they are supporters of the Tea Party movement is currently about as large at 22 percent of the population as the 21 percent who say they are liberals, according to recent but separate Gallup polls.
Meanwhile, at 41 percent of the population, according to Gallup, self-described conservatives outnumber both Tea Party movement supporters and liberals by nearly 2-to-1.

What Do Wealthy Arabs Really Care About?
by Khaled Abu Toameh – July 29, 2011
Arab League representatives who held an emergency meeting in Cairo this week to discuss the financial crisis in the Palestinian Authority did not find time to deal with the plight of over !! million Somalis who are facing starvation due to the ravaging drought.
It is a stain on the forehead of all Arabs and Muslims that Americans and Europeans have moved faster to provide urgent aid to the famine-stricken population in Somalia, one of the 22 members of the Arab League. Saudi Arabia has pledged $60 million, but it remains to be seen if it will fulfill its promise. The promise is considered a drop in the sea compared with what Western countries have pledged to save the lives of the Somalis.

Speak Plainly to Israel? How to Speak Plainly to the Palestinians, Too
by Malcolm Lowe – July 26, 2011
Israel’s prime minister, Benyamin Netanyahu, recently complained that the whole world makes demands upon Israel in the name of Middle East peace, but nobody demands anything of the Palestinians. We could add that Netanyahu’s predecessors, too, demanded little of them. The Israeli approach to peace negotiations was to offer piecemeal concessions to the Palestinians, hoping for reciprocity.
Yet even Netanyahu has merely asked for Palestinian recognition of Israel as the nation state of the Jews. That is, he asks for a statement of words, which the Palestinians could ignore later on. By contrast, Israel faces demands to establish facts on the ground, such as the removal or at least the freezing of settlements. Thus Netanyahu, too, has not yet overcome the disproportion of demands.

The Real Role of Israeli Arabs
by Khaled Abu Toameh – July 27, 2011
Israeli Arabs can play a role in reviving the stalled peace process between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Although this is an internal Israeli issue between the state and its Arab citizens, — not an issue in which the West should be involved — unfortunately, successive Israeli governments have failed to give the Arab citizens a chance to prove that they could make a positive contribution to the peace process.
This has paved the way for radical elements such as the Islamic Movement – Northern Branch to gain power among disgruntled Israeli Arabs. The best way to undermine the radicals is by offering the Arab citizens better services and jobs and giving them a feeling that they are part of the state.

“Another Kind of Israel”
by Khaled Abu Toameh – July 22, 2011
As most Arab countries continue to impose severe travel restrictions on Palestinians, Israel authorities announced this week that tens of thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank territories would be granted permits to visit Israel as tourists by the end of 2011.
This could of course have a positive impact on the Palestinian tourists’ views toward Israel. For many years, these children have been taught that most Israelis are bloodthirsty murderers whose only goal in life is to get rid of the Palestinians.

Is It Time Israel Ends Oslo?
by Mudar Zahran – July 29, 2011
Since the Oslo Accords came into effect, each time a breakthrough seems close, the Palestinian Liberation Organization [PLO] leadership, has exhibited a perplexing way of breaching the Accords’ conditions and provoking Israel, thereby working against the very agreement that brought the Palestinian Authority into existence.
The late PLO Chairman, Yassir Arafat, violated Oslo on the very first day by trying to smuggle a man into Israel whom the Israelis had explicitly banned by hiding him under the seat of his car. More generally, although under the Oslo Accords the Palestinian Authority is obligated to refrain from incitement and hate propaganda against Israel, Arafat’s anti-Israel propaganda started right from his first speech, rolling down to Palestinian TV, media, and schools. Arafat then crossed the ultimate red line by creating and financing the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, a Hamas-style terrorist group responsible for tens of terrorist attacks on Israel — the Brigade still exists today.

Fatah Infighting Helping Hamas

Until recently, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah strongman Mohammed Dahlan were close friends and political allies. Now the two men are engaged in a bitter dispute that is threatening to divide the ruling Fatah faction.
Hamas, of course, is the main party to benefit from this power struggle; its chances of taking over the Palestinian Authority have increased in wake of the infighting in Fatah.

Hatred, smears and the liberals hell-bent on bullying millions of us into silence
By Melanie Phillips on 1st August 2011
The baleful effects of the recent attacks in Norway, where Anders Breivik bombed Oslo’s government district and then gunned down teenagers at a Labour party camp, murdering at least 77 people, have not been limited to that horrific carnage.
For the atrocity has produced a reaction among people on the political Left in Britain, Europe and the U.S. that is in itself shocking and terrifying.
