Andrew Sparrow speaks to the Ukip leader about electoral pacts, ‘nutters’, banning the burqa and Europe

“This is the perfect environment if you are Nigel Farage,” Nick Clegg told the Guardian at the end of last week. “The people who are trying to exploit the politics of grievance and blame, they believe they have got the wind in their sails.”
By coincidence, I was interviewing Farage, the leader of the United Kingdom Independence party (Ukip) on Friday and at that point he didn’t seem to have the wind in his sails.
It was a few hours after the announcement of the result in the Feltham and Heston byelection and, despite speculation that Ukip could overtake the Lib Dems, Clegg’s party hung on to third place. But, as Farage talked about the broader political picture, he was upbeat about Ukip’s chances of tugging Britain out of the EU. Here are the key points from our conversation.

Citizen Islam: The Future of Muslim Integration in the West by Zeyno Baran – Continuum, 240 pp., $24.95
In the divisive, decade-old War on Terror, one certitude unites the warriors and the conscientious objectors. It is that Islamism is not to be confused with Islam. “Whatever it’s called,” George W. Bush said, “this ideology is very different from the religion of Islam.” Attorney General Eric Holder described the Islamism of the late Anwar al-Awlaki as “a version of Islam that is not consistent with the teachings of it.” Zeyno Baran has come reluctantly to the conclusion that the Bush/Holder view is false. Her new book describes how Islamists have captured many Islamic religious and social institutions, including most of the Western ones. Islamism has supplanted more traditional tendencies and has become what most people, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, understand as mainstream Islam. Gullible American and European policymakers have partnered with the wrong Muslims, freezing out their friends and empowering those who wish them ill.

Knowledge Without Knowledge
by Theodore Dalrymple – November 2011
Recently I reviewed a short book by David Horowitz, a man whose has changed his political and philosophical outlook somewhat down the years, to put it no stronger. He has mellowed with age, a process that seems perfectly normal, indeed almost biological, until one remembers than not everyone does mellow with age. Some remain mired in the swamp of their youthful convictions.
As it happens, I had in my library a book edited in 1971 by Mr Horowitz, in the days when he as still a leader of the American New Left. It was a collection of essays about the life and work of Isaac Deutscher, the British Marxist biographer of Stalin and, most famously, of Trotsky. Deutscher was also a prolific journalist and essayist.

Echoes of Iran
Stewart Bell | Oct 15, 2011
Mansour Ahani said he was fleeing religious and political persecution in Iran when he arrived at Vancouver airport from Singapore in October 1991.
“I am dead if I return,” he wrote in his refugee claim.
But after spending months following Ahani, Canadian intelligence officers came to a startling conclusion: He was a highly trained Iranian government assassin whose handlers were planning an attack on the British author Salman Rushdie.
He thinks ‘Game of Thrones’ is dumb, bemoans the lack of good modern novels and believes terrorism is dying out; over 20 years after fleeing for his life from an Iranian-issued fatwa, novelist Salman Rushdie is still unafraid to speak his mind.

New York. One fine evening a few weeks ago, the writer Salman Rushdie walked, unattended by bodyguards, to the site of the 9/11 memorial. “It was very strange to walk into that space after ten years,” the 64-year-old recalls as we sit in the offices of the Wiley literary agency in the center of New York. “I remember post-9/11, many journalists from all over saying to me, ‘Ah, now we understand what happened to you.’ And I responded, ‘Really? That’s what it took for you to take note?!’ But in some way that was the moment at which these things, like the attack on ‘The Satanic Verses’ or the persecution of other people in different places, suddenly became a big thing.”

An alliance of European countries is rebelling against EU plans to make Britain open its doors to thousands of ‘benefit tourists’.
Ministers have joined forces with 12 other nations – including France, Germany and Denmark – angry at the European Commission’s threat to take the UK to court over rules which limit foreigners’ ability to claim benefits.
If the Commission gets its way, Britain could be hit with an extra £2.5billion in welfare payments, making it even harder to tackle our huge deficit.

Black PC who used race card 14 times rebuked by judge for ‘unjustified claims’

He also argued that they deliberately excluded him from a meal in a busy food tent while on duty at Henley Regatta. But the 43-year-old’s case was thrown out by an employment tribunal judge who described it as ‘absolutely unjustified’.

Muslim Polygamists Exploiting British Welfare System

Tens of thousands of Muslim immigrants in Britain are practicing bigamy or polygamy in order to collect bigger social welfare payments from the British state, according to experts interviewed in a British newspaper exposé on the subject.
The September 24 report shows that the phenomenon of bigamy and polygamy — which is permitted by Islamic Sharia law — is far more widespread in Britain than previously believed, even though it is a crime there, punishable by up to seven years in prison.
The rapid growth in multiple marriages is being fuelled by multicultural policies that grant special rights to Muslim immigrants who demand that Sharia law be reflected in British law and the social welfare benefits system.

Our language is being hijacked by the Left to muzzle rational debate

One of the most sinister aspects of political correctness is the way in which its edicts purport to be in the interests of minority groups.
This is despite the fact that, very often, they are not promulgated at the behest of minorities at all, but by members of the majority who want to destroy their own culture and who use minorities to camouflage their true intentions.
The latest manifestation stars once again that all-time world champion of political correctness, the BBC. Apparently, it has decided that the terms AD and BC (Anno Domini, or the Year of Our Lord, and Before Christ) must be replaced by the terms Common Era and Before Common Era.

UN Report on Flotilla Incident Exonerates Israel
Sep 3, 2011 • By Elliott Abrams
The United Nations report on the Mavi Marmara incident, entitled “Report of the Secretary-General’s Panel of Inquiry on the 31 May 2010 Flotilla Incident,” is now public and largely exculpates Israel. All the facts are as Israel contended and as the Commission notes “Israel faces a real threat to its security from militant groups in Gaza. The naval blockade was imposed as a legitimate security measure” and “Israeli Defense Forces personnel faced significant, organized and violent resistance from a group of passengers when they boarded the Mavi Marmara requiring them to use force for their own protection. Three soldiers were captured, mistreated, and placed at risk by those passengers. Several others were wounded.”
The Commission makes the judgment that the use of force by the Israelis was “excessive and unreasonable,” but the real verdict is evident in the way the Israeli and Turkish governments have reacted. Israel has accepted the report and its findings of fact while of course disagreeing with that judgment about its soldiers; Turkey has rejected the report entirely.
First, the panel challenges the motives of the flotilla:
Turkey no economic powerhouse, Erdogan’s credit bubble will soon explode
Guy Bechor – September 15, 2011
Some refer to him as “the Middle East’s new sultan in a neo-Ottoman empire” – yet the truth about Erdogan’s kingdom is utterly different. We are not facing an economic power, but rather, a state whose credit bubble will be bursting any moment now and bringing down its economy.
The budget deficit of the collapsing Greece compared to its GDP stands at some 10%, and the world is alarmed. At the same time, Turkey’s deficit is at 9.5%, yet some members of the financial media describe the Turkish economy as a success story (for comparison’s sake, Israel’s deficit stands at some 3% and is expected to decline to 2% this year.)
Why the West Cares about Turkey’s Diplomatic Conflict with Israel
September 10, 2011 – Dore Gold
Under the surface, there have been growing concerns in the West about the general direction of Turkish foreign policy under Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and his AKP Party. In an extremely important 2004 cable from the US Department of State, revealed by WIKILEAKS, that was described previously in this column, an American diplomat in Turkey wrote about his concerns with Ankara’s “new, highly activist foreign policy,” Like many other commentators he focused on what he called the “neo-Ottoman fantasies” of Ahmet Davutoglu, who was then only an advisor and today is Turkey’s foreign minister.
But the American diplomat went much further in his description. He attended a meeting at the main think tank of Turkey’s ruling AKP Party where he heard many in the AKP saying that it is Turkey’s role to spread Islam in Europe. He added that among the participants in the think tank there was “the widespread belief” that Turkey should ”avenge the defeat at the siege of Vienna in 1683″–where the Ottoman armies loss to the Hapsburg Empire.

A Brilliant Fraud
By Stanley Weiss – September 15, 2011
It was the first time that cattle cars would be used in the 20th century to carry people to concentration camps, a systematic annihilation of a whole population so horrific that a new word had to be invented to capture its brutality: genocide.
In the midst of World War I, over a million Christian Armenians in Turkey were rounded up by the Ottoman Empire and slaughtered in unspeakable ways. No less a mass murderer than Adolf Hitler, in a speech to Nazi commanders before he invaded Poland, reportedly defended his order to, “kill without pity or mercy all men, women, and children of the Polish race” by asking, “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?”
Turkey rebukes Israel: do they remember Northern Cyprus and the Kurds?
04 Sep, 2011 – Boutros Hussein and Lee Jay Walker
Turkey is once more playing the “Israel card” whereby in order to gain credibility at home and to appease the anti-Israeli lobby, the same issue keeps on popping up. However, while individuals or governments who oppose Israel may welcome the ongoing outbursts which break out frequently it is obvious that mass hypocrisy in Turkey renders this a farce.
If Turkey is so concerned about human rights then why not focus on leaving Northern Cyprus, give greater freedom to the Kurds, install equality for the Alevi Muslims, stop attacking Kurds in Northern Iraq and recognize the mass genocide of Christians which took place in 1915 (pogroms before and after this date).
Under Islamic law (“Shariah”), non-Muslims (such as Christians and Jews) are mostly free to practice their religion in private but are discriminated and treated as second-class citizens, or dhimmis. As the Quran clearly states, non-Muslims must “feel themselves subdued” (Sura 9:20). When the Jews regained their independence in 1948, they not only rebelled against “dhimmitude.” They also regained and freed, like the Spaniards after the Reconquista, a land once ruled by Islam. To Muslims, this was -and still is- a double offence.
Turkey’s Islamist Prime Minister Erdogan has taken upon himself to make Israel a “dhimmi state.” Edorgan was raised as a Sufi Muslim and was imprisoned in 1998 for singing out loud that “The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets and the faithful our soldiers.” While mainstream Western media are at pains to describe Turkey’s Islamist AKP Party as “moderate,” Erdogan himself declared on Kanal D TV in August 2007 that describing Islam as moderate “is offensive and an insult to our religion.” Erdogan has been embracing the presidents of Iran and Sudan. While Sudan’s president is accused of genocide by the International Criminal Court, and while Turkey has been asked to apologize for the Armenian genocide, Erdogan has declared that “No Muslim can perpetuate genocide.”

As Israel-Turkey Alliance Disintegrates, Analysts Worry
By Piotr Zalewski – Sep 6 2011
The rapidly worsening fall-out between these two allies could have serious repercussions for an already fragile Middle East
After Turkey’s decision to suspend military ties with Israel, expel the country’s ambassador, and now possibly to apply to the International Court of Justice for an investigation into Israel’s Gaza blockade — on account of Israel’s refusal to apologize for last year’s lethal attack on the Mavi Marmara, a Gaza-bound Turkish aid ship — it’s difficult to decipher who, if anyone, might benefit from the current impasse. For Turkey, the breakup with Israel is another nail in the coffin of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s vaunted “zero problems” policy that, until recently, allowed the country to keep lines open with all sides of the Middle East’s conflicts. For Israel, the potential loss of a crucial regional ally only deepens the country’s isolation as it scrambles to come to terms with the Arab spring and its fallout. Among experts, there is some hope that the Turkey-Israel relationship could recover, if slowly. Yet there is also fear that it will deteriorate much further — and quickly.
Not long ago, Turkey could rightfully claim to maintain open diplomatic relationships with practically everyone in the Middle East. But, as Soli Ozel, a professor of international relations at Istanbul’s Bilgi University, told me, “those times are over.” “Turkey is not going to have much of a role to play. It cannot replicate the Syrian-Israeli proximity talks, which it masterminded a few years ago.” Same, he said, for the Israeli-Palestinian talks. “Turkey will probably be hailed by the Palestinians but it will isolate itself from the peace process, if the process ever comes back to life.”
Only weeks after its release, the Palmer Report into the 2010 Gaza flotilla incident appears to have been consigned to the dustbin of history.
Despite leveling criticism at Israel for “excessive force”, the report could and should have been a major prize for Israel public diplomacy. How often, and particularly at a time of precious few PR gifts, does a UN-sponsored investigation uphold the legitimacy of Israel’s naval blockade as well as highlighting the danger of Hamas from Gaza?

Do Ideas Matter?
From September 11 to the Arab Spring
August 24, 2011 | Paul Berman I: My role on September 11 was to be a reporter for The New Republic. I was in downtown Brooklyn, and from my rooftop I watched the first tower crumble, and then I ran downstairs to the street with pen and notebook and plunged into the crowds fleeing over the bridges. I spoke with one person after another, asking what they had seen. They told me. I compiled my report. It ran a few days later in the issue dated September 24, 2001, with under the title “Under the Bridge: Brooklyn Dispatch.”
But what strikes me now, in glancing back at my little article, are a couple of non-reportorial ruminations that appear in the final paragraphs. These are comments on the philosopher Plotinus and his theory of evil, and on the poet Baudelaire and his theory of landscape. A lot of readers’ eyebrows must have arched. But I was trying to take in the event, and the ruminations pushed me to work up some thoughts. I went on scribbling notes, and a couple of weeks later I published the results in The American Prospect under the title “Terror and Liberalism,” illustrated with marvelous photographs of Italian fascists from Mussolini’s time, dressed in ridiculous uniforms, and other parading fantasists. Eventually I brought out a book under the same title, unfortunately without illustrations—my contribution, for better or for worse, to the literature of 9/11.

European Concerns Over Muslim Immigration Go Mainstream
by Soeren Kern – August 15,
A new opinion survey shows that more than half of all Europeans believe there are too many immigrants in their countries and that immigration is having a negative impact on their lives.
The findings – which come as Europeans are waking up to the consequences of decades of mass immigration from Muslim countries – point to a growing disconnect between European voters and their political masters regarding multicultural policies that encourage Muslim immigrants to remain segregated rather than become integrated into their host nations.
The survey results mirror the findings of dozens of other recent polls. Taken together, they provide ample empirical evidence that scepticism about Muslim immigration is not limited to a “right-wing” political fringe, as proponents of multiculturalism often assert. Mainstream voters across the entire political spectrum are now expressing concerns about the role of Islam in Europe.

The Barbarians Inside Britain’s Gates
All the young rioters will have had long experience with the justice system’s efforts to confer impunity upon law breakers
By Theodore Dalrymple – August 15, 2011
The youth of Britain have long placed a de facto curfew on the old, who in most places would no more think of venturing forth after dark than would peasants in Bram Stoker’s Transylvania. Indeed, well before the riots last week, respectable persons would not venture into the centers of most British cities or towns on Friday and Saturday nights, for fear—and in the certainty—of encountering drunken and aggressive youngsters. In Britain nowadays, the difference between ordinary social life and riot is only a matter of degree, not of type.
A short time ago, I gave a talk in a school in an exquisite market town, deep in the countryside. Came Friday night, however, and the inhabitants locked themselves into their houses against the invasion of the barbarians. In my own little market town of Bridgnorth, in Shropshire, where not long ago a man was nearly beaten to death 20 yards from my house, drunken young people often rampage down one of its lovely little streets, causing much damage and preventing sleep. No one, of course, dares ask them to stop. The Shropshire council has dealt with the problem by granting a license for a pub in the town to open until 4 a.m., as if what the town needed was the opportunity for yet more and later drunkenness.

Bitter laughter is my main response to the events of the past week. You are surprised by what has happened? Why? I have been saying for years that it was coming, and why it was coming, and what could be done to stop it.
I have said it in books, in articles, over lunch and dinner tables with politicians whose lips curled with lofty contempt.
So yes, I am deeply sorry for the innocent and gentle people who have lost lives, homes, businesses and security. Heaven knows I have argued for years for the measures that might have saved them.
Are pre-2008 bankers the moral equivalents of British looters?
Theodore Dalrymple – 15 August 2011
No interpretation of events is final, so it is not surprising that a war of words has begun over the meaning of the riots in London and elsewhere. What is perhaps more surprising is that even conservative commentators, for example in the Daily Mail and the Spectator, have drawn a parallel that might have been expected from members of student socialist societies in the 1960s, comparing the looters who have terrorized Britain to the bankers who were involved in the financial crisis of 2008. For these pundits, the looters only did retail what the bankers did wholesale.
Varer knap 5 minutter:
British commentator blames welfare system for riots
One conservative British social commentator believes the riots that have swept the country were entirely predictable, if only the ruling elite had eyes to see it.
Theodore Dalrymple is a retired prison psychiatrist who’s been writing for years in British papers and magazines about what he sees as a welfare-addicted, under-educated underclass. Mr Dalrymple says the solution is to dismantle the social security and education system as well as liberalise the labour laws, then let those who refuse to work, starve.
He told Matt Peacock the current violence came as no surprise.
Only the wilfully blind could have been surprised by the scale or ferocity of the riots that have engulfed Britain in the past week. Unfortunately, most of the country’s political and intellectual class have been wilfully blind for years, in a state of the most abject denial; a brief walk in any of our cities should have been enough to tell them all that they needed to know.
How anyone could have missed the aggressive malignity inscribed in the faces and manner of so many young men in Britain is a mystery to me. Perhaps, like Dr Watson, our political and intellectual class saw but did not observe; and they did not observe because they lacked the moral courage to attempt anything but appeasement.

British rioters the spawn of a bankrupt ruling elite
Theodore Dalrymple – August 11, 2011
The riots in London and elsewhere in Britain are a backhanded tribute to the long-term intellectual torpor, moral cowardice, incompetence and careerist opportunism of the British political and intellectual class.
They have somehow managed not to notice what has long been apparent to anyone who has taken a short walk with his eyes open down any frequented British street: that a considerable proportion of the country’s young population (a proportion that is declining) is ugly, aggressive, vicious, badly educated, uncouth and criminally inclined.
Unfortunately, while it is totally lacking in self-respect, it is full of self-esteem: that is to say, it believes itself entitled to a high standard of living, and other things, without any effort on its own part.
When Congress went into deadlock on the debt ceiling, it was the culmination of years of bitterness and complacency – and there is worse to come
Washington DC
It’s obvious to me why the United States found itself so deep in debt that only an ugly compromise — rushed through Congress on Tuesday and Wednesday — could save it from failing to pay its bills for the first time in its history. The country is in the middle of a moral crisis. So often have Americans heard the tale of their forebears’ self-reliance and genius for political accommodation that they have grown complacent. If the crisis is new, the danger is of long standing. Describing how the rugged frontiersman degenerated into the flabby couch potato, the late historian Henry Steele Commager wrote a few years ago: ‘From Maine to Oregon he left forests in ruins; instead of cultivating, he mined the soil; he killed off bison and pigeon, polluted streams, wasted coal, oil and gas. His habits of waste he transmitted to a generation that could no longer afford them.’

Why Buffet is wrong about soaking the rich
Aug 20, 2011 by Christopher Caldwell
Like Monty Python’s crime-fighter The Bishop, Berkshire Hathaway chief executive Warren Buffett arrived late last week to the congressional argument over the debt crisis. By the time he published his broadside in the New York Times to the effect that billionaires like himself are being “coddled” by U.S. politicians, Republicans had already staved off tax increases until after the next elections. Both parties had passed off $1,500bn in extra deficit reductions to a bipartisan committee unlikely to call for tax increases. And Standard & Poor’s was sufficiently unimpressed to downgrade the US credit rating.
Buffett believes taxes on the “mega rich” ought to go up, in the name of both fairness and debt reduction. He paid just under $7m in federal taxes last year, about 17 per cent of his taxable income. But his back-office employees pay 36 per cent. It is a spreading problem. In 1992 the top 400 US earners made $16.9bn and paid 29.2 per cent in taxes. Today their income is $90.9bn and they pay 21.5 per cent.
Christopher Hitchens: Turkish military is no longer the guardian of secularism
Christopher Hitchens – Aug 3, 2011
To read of the stunning news, of the almost-overnight liquidation of Turkey’s Ataturkist or secularist military caste, and to try to do so from the standpoint of a seriously secular Turk, is to have a small share in the sense of acute national vertigo that must have accompanied the proclamation of a new system in the second two decades of the 20th century.
For example, today’s vice-president of Kemal Ataturk’s historical political party, the Republican People’s Party or RPP, was quoted last Friday as speaking of “a second Turkish republic” with a heavy heart “in the seaside city of Cannkkale,” and not long after, it seemed that some high-ranking Turkish officers would now be arrested rather than, as previously reported, having had their resignations accepted. That famous seaside peninsula, as The New York Times did not emphasize, also bears the name of Gallipoli. It is the place where Gen. Mustafa Kemal inflicted the most bloody and tragic defeat on British imperial forces in 1915-16, while also convincing Rupert Murdoch’s cocky colonial ancestors that their brave Aussie forebears had been used as cannon fodder by teak-headed British toffs. The apple of the notorious 1981 Mel Gibson movie did not roll very far from the tree. Within a few years of Gallipoli, the same Turkish general had, in fact, reversed the local verdict of the 1914-18 war, and expelled Greek, French, and British forces from Anatolia.

Turkey’s Islamic Revolution
Benny Morris | August 1, 2011
The Turkish Islamists, who took control of the country after democratic elections in 2002, are well on their way to completing a revolution which will radically affect the Middle Eastern balance of power and perhaps, more generally, the international arena (West versus Islamic East), practically without protest or opposition. This weekend, they ticked another important “V” in their gradual desecularization of the country with the mass resignation of the country’s top military brass and their immediate replacement by Islamist-friendly generals.
The dramatic resignations of the chief of staff and the heads of the army, air force and navy were prompted by the ongoing trial of about 200 military officers for conspiring against the regime. Most observers regard the charges as trumped up. But their purport was clear: To cow the army and the country’s secular, educated middle classes. As it emerges, the trials served to defang the army in advance of the takeover of the high command.

Turkey and the risks to EU security
Jeff Taylor – August 3rd, 2011
Monday a Home Affairs select committee report said that Turkey must bolster its border controls before it should be allowed to join the European Union.
The Committee said that thousands of migrants were already entering the EU using Turkey as an illegal conduit to get into Greece. Many of these migrants said the committee have Britain in mind as their destination.
Arbejdskraftens frie bevægelighed har i et halvt århundrede været synonym for hæmningsløs indvandring fra tredjeverdenslande. Mon det snart er slut?
Lord Glasman, Ed Miliband’s policy adviser, yesterday suggested that it was time for Britain to freeze immigration for EU and non-EU citizens alike. He says we should renegotiate the EU policy which allows Eastern European workers to seek work throughout the EU. This goes far further than the Government, which has promised only to put a cap on immigration from outside the EU.
Det skriver The Daily Express. De har det festligt, derovre på de lysegrønne øer:
In Slough, the council has been forced to act against sheds which pop up in back gardens without planning permission and which house large numbers of migrants without proper sanitation or protection under fire regulations. In Peterborough the council has taken action against 15 illegal shantytowns appearing in parks and even on roundabouts.
Andre sjove indslag står muslimer for:
A British Islamic group known for its provocative publicity stunts says a borough in northeast London will be the first target of a campaign to establish “emirates” in the country – Muslim enclaves where shari’a law is enforced.
Emirater. Jojo.
“You are entering a Shariah controlled zone – Islamic rules enforced,” declares a poster supposedly to be distributed as part of the campaign.
The poster, depicted on MAC’s Web site, warns that alcohol, gambling, drugs, smoking, pornography, prostitution and music concerts will be prohibited.
Gruppen har lavet en pamflet, hvor man bla. kan læse at muslimer skal:
- reject democracy
- not have non-Muslim friends
- not celebrate non-Muslim festivals including Christmas and Easter
- not join the police or armed forces
- not vote for lawmakers, or stand for election
- demand the release of “all Muslim prisoners in the hands of the disbelievers”
- reject integration with non-Islamic society
- abide by shari’a and not any “man-made law”
A Christian teacher in the UK has been ordered by her school not to talk about religion after answering a child’s question about the Muslim faith.
The teacher was asked by a girl in her class whether the Christian God and the god of Islam were the same. The teacher, replying that they were not the same, was then asked to explain how they were different.
Following the discussion, the department received a complaint from the Muslim parents of the girl.
I en tredje artikel skriver Barnabas Fund:
The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) said that judges had interpreted the law “too narrowly” in cases where Christians had claimed religious discrimination.
Dutch want to throw out migrant Poles who can’t find a job
Migrants out of work for three months ‘should be kicked out of the country’
Tenfold increase in Poles in four years in Holland
5th July 2011
Holland is on a collision course with the EU over a threat to deport Poles and other Eastern Europeans who cannot find work.
Ministers in the Hague also want to withhold migrants’ state benefits if they don’t speak Dutch.
Brussels fears that other countries experiencing an influx of jobseekers from member states might be tempted to copy the Netherlands’ threat, even though such a move would breach EU laws
