Will Ethanol Break the Muslim World After All?

Ethanol has proven to be an inadequate solution to the problem of foreign oil, but it has toppled at least one Arab ruler and may not be done yet. The Soros backed college students and the Islamists have done their part in the protests, but the Tunisian and Egyptian mobs would never have made their showing without a goad.
And the goad was high wheat prices. Part of the spike in wheat prices was due to the shift to ethanol production.
Remember when Americans were lining up with cans of gasoline during the OPEC oil boycott? Arab Muslims are now in the same boat, except with bread, rather than oil. Arab countries are frantically buying wheat, especially after the events in Tunisia and Egypt. Regime stability in the Middle East is now tethered to wheat prices. The Arab has prided itself on the power to pressure America using the price of oil, but the United States has now proven that it can do the same thing to the Arab world with the price of wheat. The price of oil may be climbing in America, but in Saudi Arabia the price of wheat is up by more than half.

Israel is today in the throes of a powerful backlash against the Knesset’s decision last week to establish a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the foreign funding of Israeli NGOs that engage in political warfare against the state.
Opposition leader Tzipi Livni claimed on Tuesday that the commission shows that “Israel today is deteriorating and abusing the very values for which we want to fight. The way that Israel is presented by the belligerent, violent government is hindering Israel’s ability to defend itself.”
As head of the opposition, over the past two months Livni has angrily opposed every initiative supported by the government as loudly as she can, regardless of its merits. So it isn’t surprising that she would condemn the commission. More jarring are the statements by Likud ministers condemning the Knesset move.

OPEC Regimes: The “Change They Need” in U.S. Foreign Policy

It’s no surprise that a number of regimes on three continents want badly a fundamental change of direction in U.S. foreign policy. But what binds these ruling establishments together in their desire for a different America is that they are authoritarian, afraid of democracy and oil producers. Furthermore, they control the destiny — and thus the economic firepower – of a collaboration of the wealthiest rulers in history, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, better known as OPEC.
OPEC was formed in September 1960 in Baghdad to “coordinate and unify petroleum policies among member countries in order to secure fair and stable prices for petroleum producers.” It mutated gradually into a world cartel that manipulates world affairs to ensure the comfortable survival of its member regimes.
The free world witnessed OPEC’s first “economic terrorism” against consumer states, including against the United States and Europe, during the 1973 oil boycott. Europeans were forced to bike in freezing temperatures to their jobs and homes, and Americans were humiliated at the pumps in their towns and cities.

OPEC’s Heavy Hand

Who manufactured the financial meltdown? It wasn’t only Wall Street: OPEC’s heavy hand is felt but unseen by the media and our politicians.
In bypassing a narrow economic analysis of the ongoing crisis, we can detect clearly the connection between the dizzying ups in petrol pricing and the slowing of American buying capacity. Though we have to conclude that while it is due largely to both Wall Street’s corruption and politicians’ abuse of the system handed the tools of doom to the middle class, Main Street’s rapid disenfranchisement was manufactured overseas, thousands of miles away, at the hands of many of the members of OPEC, the oil-producing Cartel.
Indeed, as economic commentators tell us (including a strong accusation leveled by real estate tycoon Donald Trump on Fox News against OPEC), the oil powers are behind the instability that crumbled the will of millions of middle class Americans over the past three years.

Det er en trussel, som vi efterhånden kender dem. Senere i artiklen står der:
“Det er en svær situation for OPEC. På den ene side bliver de bedt om at producere mere, mens Washington og Bruxelles siger til kartellet, at ‘vi satser på biobrændstof, og vi ønsker ikke at være afhængige af jer’,” siger Julian Lee fra Centre for Global Energy Studies i London.

Abdalla El-Badri, som er generalsekretær for De Olieeksporterende Lande (OPEC) siger ifølge den britiske avis Financial Times onsdag, at det magtfulde kartel overvejer at reducere investeringerne i ny olieproduktion på grund af Vestens mange bestræbelser på at bruge mere og mere biobrændstof i kampen mod klimaforandringer.
Det er grunden til, at denne blog ikke deltager i kritikken af klimahysteriet. Jeg synes, det er så fedt, at den islamleflende venstrefløj arbejder på at mindske vores afhængighed af olie. Den dag de er færdig med det, kan vi stille andre betingelser overfor muslimer. I Vesten såvel som andre steder. Skidt være med, at den globale opvarmning ikke er menneskeskabt. Når bare vi kommer ud af olieafhængigheden. 
Faktisk må man håbe, at det ikke lykkes kritikerne at komme igennem med sandheden. For så holder venstrefløjen jo op med at modarbejde araberne. Jeg elsker det paradoks.
