British Freedom Party Chairman – Paul Weston – IFPS Dinner Speech – Toronto – Feb 19, 2012

Paul Weston, Chairman of the British Freedom Party speaks to the International Free Press Society – Canada in Toronto on February 19, 2012.

Mr. Weston warns Canada of the encroachment of Islam in society using the British example where that society has seen the establishment of Sharia courts and a hands-off approach be law enforcement. He foresees a coming civil war in the United Kingdom between Muslims and those Britons who hold traditional British views of liberalism, individual rights and freedom.

A Future for Britain Free from Islamization: An Interview with British Freedom Party Chairman, Paul Weston

24 March 2012 – Jerry Gordon

The United Kingdom, or as Daily Mail pundit, Melanie Phillips calls it, Londonistan, has been mired in massive demographic change and concomitant Islamization brought on by its recent “open door” immigration policy. This was graphically evident in the July 7, 2005 London underground and bus system attack by four British Muslim suicide bombers who took the lives of more than 52 innocent victims and injured over 700. It was also reflected in the condoning of the more than 85 Shariah courts by the UK legal system and controversial Church of England head, the Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams. Deeply disturbing has been the de facto creation of what former Bishop of Rochester Michael Nazir-Ali called “no-go areas” where native Britons are not welcome, especially if they happen to be homosexual or Jewish.

Douglas Murray om Houla i Syrien

England strammer skruen. The Telegraph. Den iranske revolutionsgardes Basij-bevægelse er aktiv flere steder i Syrien for at støtte Assad. USA anklager Iran for at have bistået syriske militser under det uhyggelige blodbad, skriver The Guardian. Tirsdag blev der fundet yderligere 13 dræbte i det østlige Syrien,  skriver The New York Times. Murray om massakren, der kostede 108 mennesker livet:

Syria illustrates the gap between what Western politicians pretend to be able to do and what they actually can do.

The Wall Street Journal Banner Logo

British Foreign Secretary William Hague described the killing of at least 108 people last Friday in the Syrian town of Houla as “deeply disturbing.” The U.K. talked of summoning the Syrian chargés d’affaires to the Foreign Office. Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg used an interview over the weekend to escalate the rhetoric further: As Bashar Assad’s forces pushed on for another day, Mr. Clegg said that Britain may ban anybody involved in massacring Syrian civilians from attending the London Olympics this summer.

It is now more than a year since Assad—already an enemy and terror-sponsor—began using his security forces in a full-scale assault against the people of the country he treats as family property. And at the end of that year what do we do? Make it clear to any Syrian Baath Party general too busy at work lately to have kept up with the national lacrosse team that if he still thinks he’s going to cheer them on while sipping mint tea in London this summer, then he’s got another think coming. Damascus is quaking, no doubt.

Robert Spencer, director of Jihad Watch, has released a new book titled, Did Muhammad Exist? An Inquiry into Islam’s Obscure Origins. On April 24th, Mr. Spencer spoke on his book at a joint meeting of the Middle East Forum and Gatestone Institute in New York City.

Did the Prophet Muhammad really exist, or was he a sacred myth fashioned by the Koran decades after his purported death? Robert Spencer has addressed this thorny question with a dual intent:

End the Shariah War on Women

Og den meget lange følgetekst – Clare Lopez dukkede aldrig op:

This Thursday, May 10th, at 10:00 a.m. in the Bloomberg Room of the National Press Club, the Center for Security Policy launches a national public education campaign to ask America’s leaders to end the real ‘war on women’ — the Shariah War On Women. (http://www.theshariahwaronwomen.org)

Shariah law oppresses women’s liberties and human rights, denying them their unalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness:

* Life: Shariah destroys women’s lives through honor killings, physical abuse, female genital mutilation, and rape. This occurs not only to Muslim women but also to Christian and secular women through acts of kidnapping, imprisonment and murder.

* Liberty: Shariah crushes women’s liberty through censoring free speech, freedom of religion and freedom of association.

* Pursuit of Happiness: Shariah punishes women’s pursuit of happiness by denying equal rights and freedom in marriage, divorce, child custody, education and employment

A panel discussion, moderated by Center President Frank J. Gaffney, Jr. and featuring several prominent civil liberties and human rights activists, will launch the national campaign to end the Shariah War On Women. Panelists will include:

Nonie Darwish: Ms. Darwish is an American human rights activist, writer, public speaker as well as founder and Director of Former Muslims United and founder of Arabs For Israel. She is the author of a new book titled The Devil We Don’t Know: The Dark Side of Revolutions in the Middle East. She is also the author of Now they Call Me Infidel; Why I Renounced Jihad for America, Israel and the War on Terror and Cruel And Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law. She speaks frequently at college campuses, religious institutions and civic association meetings. She is currently a Senior Fellow with the Center for Security Policy.

Cynthia Farahat: Ms. Farahat is an Egyptian political activist, writer and researcher. In December 2011, Ms. Farahat testified before the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission in the US House of Representatives on the roots of the persecution of the Coptic Christian minority in her native Egypt. In 2008-2009, she was program coordinator and program officer at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty in Cairo, a multi-national free market think tank. She co-founded the Liberal Egyptian Party (2006-2008) and served as a member of its political committee. She is a fellow at the Middle East Forum and the Center for Security Policy and works with the Coptic Solidarity organization.

Clare Lopez: Ms. Lopez is a strategic policy and intelligence expert with a focus on Middle East, homeland security, national defense, and counterterrorism issues. Lopez began her career as an operations officer with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), serving domestically and abroad for 20 years in a variety of assignments, acquiring extensive expertise in counterintelligence, counternarcotics, and counterproliferation issues with a career regional focus on the former Soviet Union, Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. Ms. Lopez is a regular contributor to print and broadcast media on subjects related to Iran and the Middle East and the co-author of two published books on Iran. She is the author of an acclaimed paper for the Center for Security Policy, The Rise of the Iran Lobby, where she serves as a Senior Fellow.

Karen Lugo: Karen Lugo is the founder of The Libertas-West Project and in this capacity she responded to a request from French jurists to submit a brief to the Conseil d’Etat on the legal grounds for banning the burqa. Karen is also Co-Director of the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence. In this role, she directs the Center’s litigation in support of constitutional issues. She has submitted amicus briefs to the US Supreme Court on such issues as Healthcare Reform, Arizona’s Border Security, Gay Marriage, The Ten Commandments, Christian Clubs on University Campuses, and Material Support to Terrorists. She is a visiting professor at Chapman Law School and co-teaches the advanced Constitutional Law Clinic. Karen is president of the Orange County Federalist Society lawyer chapter and sits on the Federalist Society International Law Executive Committee. She is also on the board of advisors for Trinity Law School in Orange County, CA and an advisor to UK Baroness Caroline Cox’s HART US. Karen is a regular guest on the Orange County PBS local issues debate program, Inside OC, and she is a frequent contributor to RedCounty.com, FlashReport, and contributing editor to Family Security Matters. She has been interviewed by dozens of radio hosts on the matter of sharia law. Ms. Lugo is an appointee to the California Advisory Committee to the US Commission on Civil Rights.

From Newsmax.TV: Wilders is a critic of Islam, campaigning against what he sees as the “Islamisation of the Netherlands.” He has compared the Quran to Hitler’s Mein Kampf, and has called for the book to be banned. He also advocates ending immigration from Muslim countries.

There is only one Islam; this is the Islam of the holy book the Quran and the Islam of the prophet Mohammed. It’s not so much a religion, it’s an ideology, Wilders said.

Resisting threat of fanatical Islam

West must not surrender permanent liberty for temporary tolerance

By Geert Wilders – May 4, 2012

As I write these lines, there are police bodyguards at the door. No visitor can enter my office without passing through several security checks and metal detectors. I have been marked for death. I am forced to live in a heavily protected safe house. Every morning, I am driven to my office in the Dutch Parliament building in an armored car with sirens and flashing blue lights. When I go out, I am surrounded, as I have been for the past seven years, by plainclothes police officers. When I speak in public, I wear a bulletproof jacket.

Who am I? I am neither a king nor a president, nor even a government minister; I am just a simple politician in the Netherlands. But because I speak out against expanding Islamic influence in Europe, I have been marked for death. If you criticize Islam, this is the risk you run. That is why so few politicians dare to tell the truth about the greatest threat to our liberties today. The Islamic threat to the West is worse than the communist threat ever was. Think of it this way: Politicians who warned against the Soviet threat weren’t forced into hiding, as we who speak out against Islam are.

Thank you, Nina, for organizing this event and giving me the opportunity to address all of you. It is always good to be among friends. It is an honor to be here in the presence of so many people who care for the preservation of freedom in our civilization.

It is great to be in America, the beacon of liberty, the land of the free, the land where people are still allowed to speak freely. I know what I am talking about. I was acquitted after a legal ordeal that lasted almost 3 years. I had been brought to court for criticizing Islam.

A spokesperson for the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation OIC expressed dismay at the publication of Wilders’ new book,  “Marked for Death: Islam’s War Against the West and Me.” According to the OIC’s website, “the new book is nothing but a repetition of Mr. Wilders campaign of hate mongering against Islam in abusing of his right of freedom of expression. Q and A ( Part 1) on “Islamic Apartheid” at Temple University

Part 1 of the Q and A. One heckler remained in the crowd ( ignored by security) and then many of the ‘questions’ were instead statements of propaganda. All handled superbly by the speakers. Part 2- Q and A continues with a concerned young man asking Robert Spencer about what he has read in the Quran. He doesn’t like the violence in the Quran. The loud mouth heckler shouts out a few times, but the Q and A continues in spite of him. Part 2 is intense and quite interesting . Reminder, the audience mic was set too low so I tweaked the audio as best I could when questions were asked.

Part 3 ( end of the Q and A) The students get more argumentative. Their minds are closed but the speakers, Spencer, Geller, Darwish and Deng are politely confident as they continue to address The Islamic Apartheid ….a truth these students refused to listen to.

Save the Misunderstanders of Islam!

By Robert Spencer – April 16, 2012

Why don’t the leading Muslim groups in the United States care about Muslims?

It’s a serious question. Its urgency became clear yet again last week, when three more warriors of Allah got their just desserts: Tarek Mehanna, a young Muslim in Massachusetts, got seventeen and a half years in prison on Thursday for conspiring with jihadis to murder American soldiers in Iraq. The same day, Agron Hasbajrami, a Muslim who lives in Brooklyn, pled guilty to trying to aid terrorists and attempting to go to Pakistan to join them. And Jubair Ahmad, a twenty-four-year-old Muslim from Woodbridge, Virginia, was sentenced Friday to twelve years in prison for aiding Lashkar-e-Taiba, a jihad terrorist group in Pakistan. But these cases point up yet again an even larger problem: the denial and deception of Muslim spokesmen and organizations in the U.S.

Nowadays when fresh arrests, trials, guilty pleas and convictions of jihad terror plotters come down the pike, Muslim leaders and Islamic advocacy groups like the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) don’t even bother to issue condemnations. They don’t have to. After over ten years of constant propaganda from the mainstream media, government and law enforcement about how Islam is religion of peace and how anyone who commits violence in its name is misunderstanding and misusing its basic tenets, most Americans take for granted, if they hear about the likes of Tarek Mehanna, Jubair Ahmad and Agron Hasbajrami at all, that they are not true Muslims.

Last week, Islamic Apartheid Week was announced at Temple University in Philadelphia. No sooner was it announced than the Islamic smear machine went into high gear. Numerous articles appeared in the Philadelphia City Paper, Naked City and elsewhere, smearing and defaming the speakers (Robert Spencer, Nonie Darwish, Simon Deng and me), but most egregiously me. Two cheers for Danish justice

Melanie Phillips – 22 April 2012

In the event, Denmark pulled back from the brink. Following my piece here a few days ago about the witch-hunt against the President of the Danish Free Press society Lars Hedegaard, the Danish Supreme Court ruled last Friday that he was not guilty after all of hate speech and racism – the second time he has been acquitted of this charge in a roller-coaster of a case which has stained Denmark’s reputation for justice, free speech and common-sense.

So a victory, certainly — but still only two cheers for Denmark’s legal system.  First, as has been the case throughout this saga, the acquittal – like the previous acquittal and conviction – turned merely on the narrow question of whether the remarks by Hedegaard which were in contention had been made in a private forum. The Supreme Court decided that he had had ‘no intention of disseminating his remarks to a wider audience’, and that therefore no offence had been committed.

In decadent Europe, freedom of speech is dying. Loudly trumpeted as a ‘human right’ for any attacks on America, Israel, Christians or on the core values of the west, it is swiftly transformed into ‘hate speech’ and the shutters are slammed down on the speaker whenever Islam is in the frame.

Lars Hedegaard is President of the Danish Free Press Society, which is devoted to defending freedom of expression — particularly against the threat from radical Islam to extinguish it on the spurious grounds of ‘Islamophobia’.  With no sense of irony, Denmark is trying its damnedest to shut Hedegaard up on precisely those grounds.

The Prosecutor Lies in Wait

by Lars Hedegaard – April 23, 2012

Article 266b, under which I was charged, remains unchanged. Thus, we still have no right to refer to truth if we are indicted under this article.

I am satisfied that the Supreme Court has delivered a verdict in accordance with the evidence given in lower and superior court. The prosecution had this evidence before it decided to press charges so I cannot understand why it went ahead.

The prosecutor has burdened the courts and the taxpayers needlessly for more than two years.

This judgment is not necessarily a victory for free speech. Article 266b, under which I was charged, remains unchanged. It remains a disgrace to any civilised society and is an open invitation to frivolous trials. Thus, we still have no right to refer to truth if we are indicted under this article.

Free Speech Found Guilty by Europe

by Soeren Kern – April 23, 2012

The ruling showed that while Judaism and Christianity can be disparaged with impunity, speaking the truth about Islam is subject to swift and hefty legal penalties. The Supreme Court stressed that the substance of the charges — public criticism of Islam – is still a crime punishable by imprisonment. Under Danish law, it is immaterial whether a statement is true or false. All that is needed for a conviction is for someone to feel offended.

Lars Hedegaard, the president of the Danish Free Press Society, has been acquitted by the Danish Supreme Court on charges of “hate speech” for critical comments he made about Islam.

The verdict, however represents only a partial victory for free speech in a Europe that is being stifled by politically correct restrictions on free speech, particularly on issues related to Islam.

Tale i Højesteret

Hedegaard’s Appeal to the Danish Supreme Court

Once again, freedom of speech is under attack in Europe. Lars Hedegaard’s appeal to the Danish Supreme Court will be heard April 13th along with the prosecutor’s cross-appeal seeking a higher fine. Court proceedings are anticipated to wrap up the same day and a decision is expected within a week.

Is the Third Time a Charm for Lars Hedegaard?

Jerry Gordon – 10 April 2012

On Friday the 13th, Lars Hedegaard will have his appeal to the Supreme Court heard seeking to overturn his conviction and fines under an arcane Danish law.   Hedegaard is President of the Danish Free Press Society  and one of three heroes of conscience in an EU Country tried for exercising free speech, the criticism of Islam.  Together with the Hon. Geert Wilders in The Netherlands and Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff in Austria, Hedegaard’s predicament and theirs have been captured in interviews in the recently published collection, The West Speaks.  Of the trio of free thinkers, only Wilders has been acquitted of all charges.  We noted this as an update at the conclusion of Hedegaard’s interview:

Audio: Afghanistan – et tab, vi kan leve med

Nu må det være nok. Vi har forsøgt og det virkede ikke. Afghanerne vil ikke have civilisation i vestlig betydning. Vi skal ud nu. Secure Freedom Radios Frank Gaffney interviewede Diana West den 15. marts 2012:

At War With The Constitution

Audio Icon Volume Red MediumPart of the new Afghan strategy is to not just minimize civilian casualties, but also completely eliminate them. Obama focuses more on civilian deaths at the hands of US troops than civilian deaths at the hands of the Taliban. US forces account for 7% of civilian deaths while the Taliban are responsible for 93% yet no one talks about this. Diana West tries to explain why the US government only focuses on American faults instead of triumphs and why they hold their own troops accountable while giving the Taliban a pass to do as they please.

Diana West on why WWII Dutch appreciation for U.S. won’t be replicated in Kabul

by Diana West – 15. March 2012

I am looking at a heartwarming 1945 photograph of a Canadian-liberated town in the Netherlands, all joyous spontaneity and relief as townspeople (two wearing wooden shoes) celebrate their liberation from Nazi Germany. Nearly 70 years later, this snapshot in time is relevant to events currently swirling around a tragic, aberrational incident in which a U.S. Army staff sergeant apparently walked off base and killed 16 Afghan civilians.

Nazi liberation was a costly liberation. Allied air raids on German-occupied Rotterdam alone killed 884 citizens and wounded 631. Such losses were negligible next to the millions of civilian casualties during World War II caused by Axis and Allies alike.

It’s a Pity Somebody Has to Win

We have no national interest in overthrowing Assad.

By Andrew C. McCarthy – March 3, 2012

Asked about the Iran-Iraq war that stretched for eight ghastly years after breaking out in 1980, Henry Kissinger is said to have quipped, “It’s a pity they both can’t lose.”

The pity is that we have lost that exquisite wisdom  concerning our national interest, despite a two-decade road to hell paved by good intentions — at least compassionate intentions — from Kosovo to Kandahar. If that isn’t clear enough from the latest killings of American soldiers stuck like sitting ducks between the Afghan Taliban and other Afghan Islamists, all doubt is removed by Elliott Abrams, the longtime Republican foreign-policy solon who served as a top National Security Council official during the heady days of the Bush “Freedom Agenda.” “Can there be a group anywhere in the world today more disappointed in United States foreign policy than those fighting the Syrian regime?” Abrams, a distinguished public servant whom I admire, asked this week in a post on the Corner.

Let Syria Be

We should stop enmeshing ourselves ever deeper in the Muslim morass.

By Andrew C. McCarthy – March 10, 2012

‘We will hold sacred the beliefs held sacred by others.”

That’s the concluding rally cry of the U.S. Department of Defense’s newly issued guidance on the “Proper Handling and Disposal of Islamic Religious Materials — Service Members/Civilian Training.” Here’s how it works: Mainstream Muslims throughout the Middle East believe, based on the Koran and other “Islamic Religious Materials,” that if an infidel force invades a Muslim territory, its members must be killed until the force has been driven out. They further believe that if non-Muslims commit some act — even an inadvertent one — that Muslims perceive as insulting to Islam, a campaign of murder and mayhem is justified.

Our response? We will hold sacred the beliefs held sacred by others.

Egypt Releases Seven Americans . . . but Is There a Catch?

By Andrew C. McCarthy – February 29, 2012

The AP reports that Egypt’s transitional military government has lifted a travel ban against seven of the 16 Americans currently being tried for their work with organizations that allegedly took illegal foreign contributions — work that incited protests against the military rulers, the government alleges. The report takes this development (which includes the release of Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood’s son) as a signal that the crisis is being resolved. The 16 Americans are among 43 “civil society activists” being tried. Though the trial started Sunday, it was promptly adjourned for two months (until April 26). In the meantime, the American defendants have not been required to attend the trial and, more significantly, the three judges resigned from the case, citing “uneasiness.” The country’s top prosecutor is said to have lifted the travel ban at the recommendation of the case’s investigating magistrate.

First the Ahmadi, Then Everybody Else

It isn’t al-Qaeda that’s slaughtering religious minorities in Muslim lands.

By Andrew C. McCarthy – February 18, 2012

Their crime? These Muslims have the temerity to suggest that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, an Indian who died in 1908, was the promised Mahdi — the redeemer of Islam — and not one of the false prophets about whom Mohammed had warned. They compound their offense with condemnations of violent jihad, maintaining that man’s inhumanity to man is ultimately conquered by love and kindness. So, of course, the Ahmadi Muslims have to die.

They are killed in Muslim Pakistan. They are killed in Muslim Bangladesh. They are killed in Indonesia, the world’s most populous Islamic country and, putatively, its most moderate. It was there, in a village in West Java last year, that hundreds of Muslims wielding machetes, sharpened sticks, and stones set upon on an Ahmadi home, brutally murdering three men and maiming several others. True to form, Islamic clerics raced to the fore to rationalize the savagery as being provoked by Ahmadi heresy. The ringleaders were sentenced to less than six months’ imprisonment, with the country’s minister of religious affairs callously explaining that religious freedom was certainly not freedom to “modify” Islamic beliefs — and equating Ahmadi preaching, which is banned, with flag-burning.

Lessons From Denmark

by Ann Snyder  •  Dec 31, 2010

Molly Norris was right, initially at least. The original idea behind “Everybody Draw Mohammed Day” was simple. It was a message about the importance of solidarity in defense of something of great value—the cornerstone of our individual liberties—freedom of expression.

Comedy Central, Norris charged, had “cooperated with terrorists” when it censored an episode of South Park. If instead, everyone drew an image of Mohammed, Islamists couldn’t possibly silence all of us. Her message echoed Benjamin Franklin’s statement at the signing of the Declaration of Independence: “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

Recent news reminds us that capitulation is a failed strategy. We need to stand together with those who value individual rights (Muslims and non-Muslims, alike) against the onslaught of Islamists who would destroy those very freedoms.

Mechanicsburg District Judge Mark Martin and his staff temporarily relocated to the Cumberland County Courthouse in Carlisle yesterday after the judge received complaints and threats after his comments in the “Zombie Muhammad” case, The Patriot-News is reporting. The controversy follows an incident at the Mechanicsburg Halloween parade, where a Muslim man at the parade, Talaag Elbayomy, was accused of accosting an atheist activist, Ernest Perce, who dressed as a zombie version of the Prophet Mohammed.

The incident was taped and posted on YouTube here and Perce also posted an audio recording of his hearing with Martin. In the audio, Martin appears to tell Perce that he is a Muslim, and that Perce’s actions were “very, very, very offensive” to the faith.

Hundreds of threats for assault victim in case dismissed by Quran-minded judge

By Pamela Geller – February 26, 2012

The Pennsylvania man assaulted in October by a Muslim who was offended by his Halloween parade “Zombie Muhammad” costume said he has received hundreds of death threats after a judge dismissed his attacker’s criminal charges.

Ernest Perce told The Daily Caller that Talaag Elbayomy, a Muslim man, “grabbed me, choked me from the back, and spun me around to try to get my sign off that was wrapped around my neck.”

Elbayomy reportedly admitted to a police officer, Sgt. Bryan Curtis, that he attempted to rip Perce’s fake beard off, remove his “Muhammed of Islam” sign and choke him.

Opdatering 8. marts 2012: Ernest Perce blev udsat for et justitsmord og sagen verserer stadig i amerikansk presse:

Impeach Pennsylvania’s Sharia Judge

by Robert Spencer on Mar 6th, 2012

The facts of the case are clear: Ernest Perce, a young atheist in Pennsylvania, marched in a Halloween parade dressed as “Zombie Muhammad.” A Muslim, Talaag Elbayomy, grew enraged when he saw Perce’s costume, and began choking him while trying to pull off the fake beard that Perce had glued onto his face. Perce went to the police, and so did Elbayomy – the latter under the mistaken impression that it was illegal in the United States, as it is in many Muslim lands, to insult or mock the prophet of Islam. Elbayomy was mistaken, of course: it isn’t illegal to mock Muhammad in the United States, but it may be soon, courtesy Judge Mark Martin, who dismissed the case against Elbayomy.

Martin claimed in a message trying to explain away his mishandling of the case that he dismissed the case for lack of evidence: “In short, I based my decision on the fact that the Commonwealth failed to prove to me beyond a reasonable doubt that the charge was just; I didn’t doubt that an incident occurred, but I was basically presented only with the victim’s version, the defendant’s version, and a very intact Styrofoam sign that the victim was wearing and claimed that the defendant had used to choke him. There were so many inconsistencies, that there was no way that I was going to find the defendant guilty.”
