Social or Antisocial networking blocks true-humanistic-contact and relations with people. Do not confuse broadcasting these details with anything else but the culture of self absorption. Additionally you are handing the most intimate details of your life to a “Self Service Spy Ring.” Yes, you are giving the most vulnerable aspects of your life to the Government and the Corporate Oligarchy. You are helping those people working against your best interests. The Soviets dreamed of having an intelligence network of this camera by having local neighborhood spy rings. With Facebook you are doing this disservice to yourself.
Ann Barnhardt, a Constitutional Review w Solutions

Borgerkrig i fuld skala, mener højtstående kilder i FNs fredsbevarende styrker - Herve Ladsous, the U.N.’s peacekeeping chief - i et interview i New Zealand’s Rhema Radio.
Syrian Rebels tried to get Alex Thomson Channel 4 Reporter killed to boost anti-Assad Propaganda
From New Zealand’s Rhema Radio: The United Nations says Syria is now involved in all-out civil war, after their own UN Monitors were shot at by rebel forces. As we’ve heard, there are terrible tales of children being used as human shields, tortured and killed and increasingly, calls for other nations to take some sort of action. Now Russia’s giving the Syrian regime attack helicopters — and it’s clear the rebel forces are also being armed from somewhere.

France 24: A growing number of people are starting to compare Syria to the situation the world faced with Bosnia during the mid 1990s. Among them is NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, who talks to Annette Young about the lessons that should have been learnt from the Balkans.

The Future of terror: Michael Rubin interview with Intersec Magazine
April 25, 2012 – Robert de la Poer
As al-Qaeda’s influence grows, Dr. Michael Rubin tells Robert de la Poer that the Western countries must co-operate and continue to take the lead in the fight against Jihadist terrorists.
RP: Do you think there has been enough international co-ordination of law enforcement and intelligence efforts to attack the logistics and financing arms of Jihadist terrorist networks since 9/11? Who should be taking the lead in this fight?
MR: If there is one success story since 9/11, it has been the efforts to combat terror finance. If military action is sometimes akin to conducting surgery with an axe, efforts to dry up sources of funding are like wielding a scalpel.

What to Say When You’re Handed the Obama-Is-Good-for-Israel Talking Points
June 1, 2012 – by Barry Rubin
Many Americans, and particularly Jews, are starting to receive mailings encouraging them to vote for President Barack Obama or donate to his reelection campaign of by arguing that he is pro-Israel. Several readers have asked me to provide them with responses. Here is a brief answer.
These emails and mailings, though designed to look as if they were written by concerned individuals, clearly draw their texts from talking points posted on the Obama reelection site. The arguments are very thin and selective but are presented as if they represent the totality of Obama policy.
England strammer skruen. The Telegraph. Den iranske revolutionsgardes Basij-bevægelse er aktiv flere steder i Syrien for at støtte Assad. USA anklager Iran for at have bistået syriske militser under det uhyggelige blodbad, skriver The Guardian. Tirsdag blev der fundet yderligere 13 dræbte i det østlige Syrien, skriver The New York Times. Murray om massakren, der kostede 108 mennesker livet:
What Bashar Assad Knows
Syria illustrates the gap between what Western politicians pretend to be able to do and what they actually can do.
By Douglas Murray – May 29, 2012,
British Foreign Secretary William Hague described the killing of at least 108 people last Friday in the Syrian town of Houla as “deeply disturbing.” The U.K. talked of summoning the Syrian chargés d’affaires to the Foreign Office. Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister and Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg used an interview over the weekend to escalate the rhetoric further: As Bashar Assad’s forces pushed on for another day, Mr. Clegg said that Britain may ban anybody involved in massacring Syrian civilians from attending the London Olympics this summer.
It is now more than a year since Assad—already an enemy and terror-sponsor—began using his security forces in a full-scale assault against the people of the country he treats as family property. And at the end of that year what do we do? Make it clear to any Syrian Baath Party general too busy at work lately to have kept up with the national lacrosse team that if he still thinks he’s going to cheer them on while sipping mint tea in London this summer, then he’s got another think coming. Damascus is quaking, no doubt.

Colin Powell on the Bush Administration’s Iraq War Mistakes
May 13, 2012 – Colin Powell
Chaos in Baghdad
On the evening of Aug. 5, 2002, President Bush and I met in his residence at the White House to discuss the pros and cons of the Iraq crisis. Momentum within the administration was building toward military action, and the president was increasingly inclined in that direction.
I had no doubt that our military would easily crush a smaller Iraqi army, much weakened by Desert Storm and the sanctions and other actions that came afterward. But I was concerned about the unpredictable consequences of war. According to plans being confidently put forward, Iraq was expected to somehow transform itself into a stable country with democratic leaders 90 days after we took Baghdad. I believed such hopes were unrealistic. I was sure we would be in for a longer struggle. Colin Powell reflects on lessons from the battlefield to the halls of power—including the mistakes of the Iraq War, his infamous U.N. speech, and the crimes at Abu Ghraib.
Stoned to death for being an emo: NINETY Iraqi students killed for having ‘strange hair and tight clothes’
Number of deaths could be even higher
Cleric calls the stonings ‘an act of terrorism’
Ministry of Interior ‘complicit’ in the killings
10 March 2012
Youngsters in Iraq are being stoned to death for having haircuts and wearing clothes that emulate the ‘emo’ style popular among western teenagers.
At least 14 youths have been killed in the capital Baghdad in the past three weeks in what appears to be a campaign by Shia militants.
Militants in Shia neighbourhoods, where the stonings have taken place, circulated lists yesterday naming more youths targeted to be killed if they do not change the way they dress.
Since the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq, one of the most frequently recurring talking points has been speculation as to whether there will be a sectarian civil war in the country. Throughout this winter, the media at large and numerous analysts have been quick to note incidents of mass casualty attacks, pointing to an upsurge in fatalities, particularly in the month of January.
In addition, there has been a tendency to tie the increase in violence to the U.S. withdrawal and the subsequent political crisis that entailed the issuing of an arrest warrant against Tariq al-Hashimi, the Sunni vice-president of Iraq, on allegations of involvement in terrorism, as well as a boycott of the Iraqi parliament by the main opposition bloc al-Iraqiya, which has now decided to end its boycott.

Europe’s Other Crisis
May 4, 2012 | Christopher Caldwell
In two separate incidents in March, Mohammed Merah, a French-born French citizen who thought he was waging jihad, ambushed four soldiers around Toulouse, killing three of them. A week later, he shot dead three children arriving for morning classes at a nearby Jewish school, along with a young rabbi who was father to two of them. The children were aged eight, six, and three. Merah recorded the killings on a micro-camera mounted around his neck and sent the footage to Al Jazeera, which did not air it. Shortly before he died by gunfire, Merah told the soldiers who had surrounded his apartment that he regretted not having done more of what he did.
These were crazy deeds, and one can argue about what role insanity played in them, but something else needs to be candidly acknowledged: the killer was not a lone wolf. He had a measure of community support and a great deal of family support. His brother Abdelkader professed himself “proud” of his relation to the murderer. His mother refused to convince her son to surrender to police. His father threatened to file a wrongful-death suit against the French state. The contemporary culture of politicized Islam, as deracinated Internet-surfers understand it, is what Merah believed he was fighting for. He was upset about French laws that limit the wearing of the Muslim veil among schoolgirls. Someone had whipped him into a frenzy over Israel’s occupation of the West Bank.

The Lady with the Popular Front
France’s rightists have grown too big to ignore.
May 7, 2012 • By Christopher Caldwell
The French prefer “tenacity” to “cooperation” by a measure of 51-44 percent, according to a poll about political attitudes published this election season. By 57-41 percent they like “hard work and courage” better than “social justice and solidarity.” Such attitudes have not been widespread in France since the war. On Friday, Dominique de Villepin, the foreign minister who led France out of the Iraq war coalition in 2003, professed himself “frightened” of France’s right-wingers. As Attorney General John Mitchell said of the United States in 1970, “This country’s going so far to the right you’re not even going to recognize it.”
Et klart mønster tegner sig. Konservative medier får etiketten ‘højreorienteret’, hvorimod venstreorienterede får ‘uafhængig’, ‘velanset’ eller ‘troværdig’.
