Through her activism and media appearances, Taimoorazy has worked tirelessly to promote the cause of Assyrian Christians in the U.S. While volunteering for Catholic Charities, she has mentored young women arriving in the U.S. She has also volunteered with Operation Homefront in Illinois, an organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors.

Taimoorazy was smuggled into Switzerland in 1989 to avoid religious persecution in her native Iran. After spending seven days in a monastery in Zurich, she was smuggled into Germany where she sought asylum in the U.S embassy. In 1990 she immigrated to the U.S with the refugee status. As an Assyrian Christian living in Iran, Taimoorazy learned to be multi-lingual at a young age, and is fluent in English, Farsi, and Assyrian. She obtained her Masters degree in Instructional Design from Northeastern Illinois University. In addition to being an entrepreneur, she has also worked as a journalist for a local television station in Chicago. As a child, she would take her sister’s hairbrush and stand in front of the mirror and act as a news reporter — even before she learned how to read and write.

Og her. Kvinder i det offenlige rum er fornærmeligt.

Det handler om voldtægt og seksuelle overgreb. Mona Eltahawy, der selv er muslim, er det senste offer. Eltahawy blev nærmst radbrækket:

Running for Their Lives

by Raymond Ibrahim – September 28, 2011

Historically, non-Muslims whose lands were seized by the jihad had three choices: conversion, dhimmitude, or death. Today, however, they have a fourth option largely unavailable to their forbears: quit their lands of origin—emigrate—the latest testimony to the nature of Islam.

A recent report indicates that unprecedented numbers of Copts, Egypt’s indigenous Christian population, are emigrating from their homeland in response to the so-called “Arab spring”:

Caliphate made of garbage, to turn Europe, America, Canada and Australia into towering trash dumps consisting of Islamic radicals and Muslim immigrants

The Trash of Islam

Daniel Greenfield – September 28, 2011

Two years ago the Egyptian city of Cairo, the largest city in the Arab world and the “timeless city” of Obama’s Cairo speech, the heart of the Arab Spring, was suffering from a garbage crisis. The crisis had a very simple cause, the pigs that used to eat the garbage were killed to prevent the spread of Swine Flu.

Logo Canada Free Press

The pigs living in “Garbage City” had served as both organic garbage disposals and food sources for the Zabaleen, families of marginalized Christian Copts who made a living by collecting the garbage, reselling the inorganic garbage and feeding the organic garbage to pigs. The system worked fine so long as there were pigs, but without the pigs, Cairo’s streets are filled with giant mounds of rotting garbage.

Saudization of Egypt

by Ali Alyami – October 3, 2011

The Saudization of Egypt has begun with the intent of derailing democratic transition or preventing it from taking roots for years to come. According to Al Arabiya,120 new Saudi companies have been established since the Egyptian Revolution on Jan. 25, 2011. Saudis are investing in every sector of the Egyptian economy where many poverty stricken Egyptians will be hired to make living , an investment that is understandable and that can be appreciated. The major problem with this is that wherever Saudi money goes, Wahhabism “follows and swallows.”

What Is Egypt’s Revolution Really All About?

Signs point to the creation of a government even more repressive than the previous one

September 25, 2011 – by Raymond Stock

The stirring, iconic scenes of courage and national unity, sacrifice and magnanimity, have long since faded, like a discarded bouquet of lotus and jasmine.

They have been replaced with endless strikes; attacks on churches; countless, sometimes bloody, demonstrations in Cairo’s Tahrir (Liberation) Square; growing radical Islamist (Salafi) control of Sinai; cross-border attacks on Israel (and Israel’s inevitable response); and, finally, the sacking of a sovereign embassy with the ruling military’s apparent complicity. For the first time in Egypt’s five thousand years of Pharaonic-style rule, the people have put the top man on trial, but the exercise somehow seems cheap and tawdry.

Angrebet på Israels ambassade i Cairo

af Daniel Pipes – 28. September 2011

Egypt declares Camp David accords with Israel ‘not a sacred thing’

Egypt’s prime minister triggered angry consternation in Israel on Thursday after declaring that the historic Camp David accords underpinning peace between the two countries were “not a sacred thing”.

By Adrian Blomfield – 15 Sep 2011

Dramatically heightening tensions during an increasingly volatile time in Israel’s relations with the Arab world, Essam Sharaf’s suggestions that the 32-year treaty could be revised prompted disbelief in the Jewish state.

“The Camp David agreement is not a sacred thing and is always open to discussion with what would benefit the region and the case of fair peace,” Mr Sharaf told Turkish television. “We could make a change if needed.”

Egypt’s Copts Start Sit-in in Cairo to Protest Attacks on Churches

By Sherif Tarek – October 4, 2011

Hundreds of Egyptian Copts and supporters organised an angry protest and started a sit-in Tuesday night to voice fury over their renewed feeling of persecution and injustice in the wake of last month’s sectarian tensions in Aswan, Upper Egypt.

Egypt’s minority Coptic population has been fuming since 30 September after a group of Muslims in Merinab village in Aswan attempted to block renovations underway at a christian church in the majority Muslim village, charging that the building was actually a ‘guesthouse’ that cannot be turned into a church.

Coptic protesters congregated in the main square in Cairo’s neighborhood of Shubra, which is home to a large concentration of Egyptian Christians.

Egyptian military sets dates for elections, and the reaction is dismay

By Mohannad Sabry | September 27, 2011

Egypt’s ruling military council on Tuesday announced a long-awaited schedule for selecting a new civilian government that foresees parliament holding its first session on March 17, 2012, more than a year after the toppling of former President Hosni Mubarak.

But while many in Egypt are eager to see an end to the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces’ rule by decree, the immediate reaction to the announcement was dismay — a sign of how badly tarnished the military’s reputation has become in the seven months it has ruled the country.

An Egyptian Jew in Exile: An Interview with Bat Ye’or

by Jerry Gordon – October 2011

Logo New English Review Banner

I first encountered Gisèle Littman, better known as “Bat Ye’or,” through her book, The Dhimmi: Jews and Christians under Islam while browsing through a Judaica section of a Barnes & Noble book store in Westport, Connecticut in 1985.  Reading it opened my mind to the historical evidence of the subjugated treatment of Jews, Christians and other non-Muslims under shari’a in the wake of Islamic Jihad over conquered lands. Her book threw into considerable doubt the then fashionable medievalist commentary that Jews and Christians had been well treated in Al Andaluz, Muslim Spain and in the far reaches of the Caliphate of the Ottoman Empire. Bat Ye’or’s penetrating historical analysis in The Dhimmi was followed by further investigations into the plight of Christians under the system of Islamic shari’a  “dhimmitude.”  Dhimmitude as an historical concept, was coined by Bat Ye’or in 1983 to describe the legal and social conditions of Jews and Christians subjected to Islamic rule. The word dhimmitude comes from dhimmi, an Arabic word meaning “protected.” Bat Ye’or, through her latter writings plumbed the depths of Islamization of Europe with her major work, Eurabia: The Euro Arab Axis and the recently published, Europe Globalization and the Coming Universal Caliphate. Det betaler sig at læse artiklen, før man ser video. Artiklen tager fat i de væsentlige punkter:

“It should be us, with our understanding of Islam, our principles, colonizing the United States of America.” – Tariq Ramadan, Dallas, July 27th 2011

August 3, 2010

On July 27, 2011, Tariq Ramadan gave a speech at a fundraiser organised by the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) in Dallas (TX).

GMBDR describes ICNA as “a less well-known part of the Muslim Brotherhood network in the U.S., generally thought to be closely tied to the Jamaat-e-Islami organization of Southeast Asia, itself known to be allied with the Muslim Brotherhood. ICNA is particularly close to the Muslim American Society and the two organizations have been holding joint annual conventions for many years.”

It’s Time Lily-Livered Europe Stood Up to Muslim Bigots

By Ayaan Hirsi Ali | May 5, 2009

In 2006, I had a debate with Tariq Ramadan, the author of Western Muslims and the Future of Islam. In the hypothetical event of a war between Egypt and Switzerland, for which community would he be prepared to die, I asked him. Mr Ramadan has dual citizenship. He’s an Egyptian by birth and a Swiss by naturalisation. His response was one of rage on different levels. Above all I think he was outraged that one should ask such a question. He refused to answer.

Mr Ramadan, like many other Muslims, may have two or more citizenships. From all that he expresses both in person and on paper, it is clear that his loyalty, above all, is to Islam. I do not doubt that he would die for Islam, like most Muslims, and that’s his prerogative. But what European countries have done is give citizenship to individuals who feel no obligation to share in their societies for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer and in the event of a catastrophe, sacrifice themselves.

Forced Marriages in Our Own Backyard

by Phyllis Chesler on Mar 17th, 2011

Logo FrontPageMagazine

On February 22, 2011, Jessie Bender, a 13-year-old southern California girl, ran away from home. No, Jessie was not into “sex, drugs, or rock n’ roll.” On the contrary. Jessie was terrified that her American-born mother, Melissa, a convert to Islam, and her mother’s Pakistani boyfriend and acting stepfather Mohammed “Mo” Khan, had decided to send her to Pakistan to be married against her will. Had Jessie gone, her mother and “Mo” would have received $3000.00.

Initially, her mother told police that Jessie had been abducted by a Facebook predator. Melissa, in full hijab, made a tearful plea for the television cameras. “If you are holding my daughter, please let her go…Please, I beg you to let my daughter go. She’s just 13 years old.”

Conversations with History – Tariq Ramadan

October 7, 2010 in UC Berkeley

Conversations host Harry Kreisler welcomes Oxford University Professor Tariq Ramadan for a discussion of his new book, “What I Believe.” Reflecting on the formative experiences of his life, Professor Ramadan traces the influence of his family, his education in Western philosophy and Islamic studies, and the impact of his different careers including high school principal, philosopher, and Islamic scholar. He explains what it means to be a religious reformer and characterizes his work as a bridge builder between the Islamic world and the West.  Articulating his commitment to universal principles and resistance to inequality, Ramadan analyzes the tensions facing Muslims in an era of globalization as they strive to be fully engaged as citizens committed to Western values. Professor Ramadan also discusses his perspective on women’s rights and the controversy over the building of a mosque near the World Trade Center.

Tariq Ramadan: Islam & the West

Microphone Red IconRamadan talks about Muslims, America, and the future. Plus, we hear from the scene of Chile’s dramatic mine rescue.

Tariq Ramadan makes people stand up and listen. The outspoken Islamic thinker, leader and lightning rod was banned from the U.S. by the Bush administration.

But his voice kept on rising. Now he’s in the country, today with us, and he’s preaching a message of peace and pluralism.

He’s telling American Muslims to have faith in America. And he’s telling all Americans that Islam and the West can get along.

He has his doubters, his skeptics – some quite harsh – that call it sweet talk.  But Ramadan says his message is very real and urgently important.

Plus, late in the hour, we go to Chile to check in on the mining rescue.
