“Death to Americans” og “Death to infidels”. Demonstrationer, benzinbomber, nedbrændte politistationer, dækafbrændinger, bilafbrændinger, afbrænding af Obama-dukker, slangebøsser, skud, stenkast, vrede mullaher i højttalere, stormløb imod det amerikanske konsulat i Herat.
Hundreds of other people protested in the Afghan capital as security forces dispatched reinforcements in a bid to stop the demonstrations from spiralling out of control in the fiercely conservative Islamic country.
The US commander in Afghanistan, General John Allen, apologised and ordered an investigation into a report that troops “improperly disposed of a large number of Islamic religious materials which included Korans”.
“I offer my sincere apologies for any offence this may have caused, to the president of Afghanistan, the government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and most importantly, to the noble people of Afghanistan,” he said.
US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta also apologised for the “inappropriate treatment” of copies of the Koran and promised a swift investigation.
Det står der i The Australian. Mindst 24 døde, skriver The Wall Street Journal, heraf to amerikanske soldater, som blev myrdet, fremgår det af The New York Times.
Det ser man i en anden artikel i The New York Times.
De nu brændte bøger blev udlånt til afghanske fanger, som misbrugte dem til at skrive beskeder i – “a secret Taliban message system”, fortæller Diana West i Townhall.
Som man kunne vente: dhimmitude over hele linen.
Ezra Levant on burning Afghan protests
February 22, 2012
Ezra Levant discusses the orchestration behind many violent protests in Afghanistan.
Fra 23. februar 2012:
Brian Lilley: Stop apologizing to Koranimals!
“Will there be grovelling and gut-wrenching media stories throughout the muslim world over the 2 U.S. soldiers shot over this?”
“I doubt it.”
“Was there ever an apology for the nun murdered in Ethiopia a few years back?”
“When Pope Benedict made comments that inflamed the muslim world?”
“What about the priest shot in a Turkish church by a young man yelling ‘Alluha Akbar’? I don’t recall an apology tour there.”
Opdatering 26. februar 2012. Afghanerne fortsætter for 5. dag i træk, – man skønner, at dødstallet nu ligger på 29. Sådan har muslimer jo læst deres koran i ungefær 1400 år. Fra Monsters and Critics:
Two foreign military advisors, reportedly United States nationals, were killed in a gun fight inside Afghanistan’s Interior Ministry on Saturday, as scores of Afghans took to the streets for a fifth day over the desecration of the Koran by US troops.
At least four demonstrators were also killed in a day of violent protests across the country
Og:
Local media said the latest casualties were also American, while the suspect shooter was thought to be an Afghan policeman
Og:
Sayed Sarwar Hussaini, a spokesman for the police in Kunduz, said the protesters had tried to storm a United Nation’s office and the local police’s headquarters, but had failed to get inside.

Will Obama behead the Qur’an burners?
by Robert Spencer – February 28, 2012
Madness has overtaken Washington, and the world. Every day this past week has brought fresh reports of more people murdered in Afghanistan over the burning of some copies of the Qur’an at Bagram Airfield. In response, every day new apologies come from American officials. Barack Obama, Leon Panetta, the commander of NATO troops in Afghanistan, General John Allen, and others have all issued abject apologies to Afghan President Hamid Karzai, the “noble people of Afghanistan,” and everyone else in sight.
Even the most minor of officials are getting into the act: Peter Lavoy, acting assistant secretary of defense for Asia and Pacific security affairs, scraping the bottom of the barrel for a suitable object for his abject submission, apologized to Muslims in the Washington, D.C. area.
