German Multiculturalists Declare War on Critics of Islam

by Soeren Kern – October 3, 2011

The German government is debating whether to increase surveillance of German citizens who are trying to prevent the spread of radical Islam in Germany.

The move comes in reaction to a three-week-long smear campaign by members of the German mainstream media, who have been relentless in their efforts to discredit the so-called counter-jihad movement in Germany.

Opinion polls show that growing numbers of Germans are worried about the consequences of decades of multicultural policies that have encouraged mass immigration from Muslim countries.

Europe’s Underestimated Islamists

by Ian Johnson – Fall 2011

Logo The Middle East Quarterly

In early 1959, a small West German intelligence operation stumbled over a sensational find: U.S. collusion with the Muslim Brotherhood. According to the West German sources—two ex-Wehrmacht soldiers who were in Washington’s pay but still felt loyalty to their old German bosses—Washington was supporting one of the Brotherhood’s top men, the Geneva-based Said Ramadan, son-in-law of the movement’s founder Hassan al-Banna, in the hope of using him in the global battle against communism. The U.S. double-agents wanted to know if the West Germans would also help support Ramadan.

Bonn’s response was an unequivocal “no”: not because of ethical qualms about doing business with the Brotherhood but because of practical considerations. “Ramadan doesn’t possess the slightest influence in the Orient,” read an evaluation by the head of the West German intelligence operation, Gerhard von Mende. “A connection with him would only yield negative consequences.”

A Third of Immigrant Children are ‘Problem Children’ in German Schools

Around a third of the immigrant children living in Germany have problems in school. Educational researchers Ahmet Toprak und Aladin El Mafaalani [of Turkish and Syrian extraction] have now investigated the reasons for their poor performance and disciplinary difficulties on behalf of the Konrad Adenauer Institute. Their behaviour to now has been “irritating, disconcerting and socially undesirable,” it says in their study about “Muslim children and youths in Germany.”

According to the analysis of the authors, lack of success in school is due to a number of cultural and familial factors. One relates to the early childhood upbringing. While German parents generally know that the basis for success in school is found at home, in families of Turkish origin no “pre-education” in line with school requirements takes place. They pay little attention to the development of the linguistic, motor and cognitive abilities of their children to prepare for school. Displaying a helpless trust in authority, they rely on schools to teach their children what they need to know. They barely know the education and training system, write the authors, overestimate the function of the school and renounce their own educational responsiblity for successful learning. Because that is what they know from their countries of origin: “There what children learn is up to the teacher alone. Parents never get involved in the school’s education,” says Mafaalani, who is an educational researcher and also a teacher himself.

Daniel Greenfield om Nonie Darwish, jødehad & muslimsk demokrati

Geniale Greenfield:

Targetting Darwish

Posted by Daniel Greenfield on Oct 11th, 2011

The recent conviction of the Irvine 11 was a reminder of how far the campus arms of the Muslim Brotherhood will go to silence dissenting speakers. For all their protestations during the trial, they don’t believe in free speech, what they believe in is a monopoly on campus speech.

Nonie Darwish, an ex-Muslim and an informed critic of Islam, has had her talks assailed by Brotherhood campus affiliates numerous times. In 2009, at Seattle University members of the Muslim Students Association did their best to disrupt a speech by Darwish. That same year at Boston University, a fire was set in a bathroom right before her speech to scuttle her presentation. Now, as Darwish was set to speak at a Federalist Society event at the George Mason University School of Law, another Muslim Brotherhood organization, CAIR, deployed a slightly more subtle line of attack.

Islamic Ethnic Cleansing of Jews

Posted by Daniel Greenfield on Oct 7th, 2011

The Jews who fled the Muslim world left many things behind. They left behind their homes and their possessions. Their synagogues, their neighborhoods, and much of their history remained in the alleys of Aleppo, the neighborhoods of Cairo and the streets of Baghdad.

Today when their history isn’t being ignored, while that of the Arabs who fled Israel after their failed attempts at genocide of the country’s Jewish population in 1948 and 1967 is lionized, it’s being lied about.

Every Muslim country constructs its own myths of a “Golden Age” where Jews were taken care of by their Muslim masters. Even when, like Al-Andalus, they are countries that no longer exist.

In the final analysis the trouble with Muslim democracy is the Muslims

The Trouble With Muslim Democracy

Daniel Greenfield – October 13, 2011

The ultimate symbol of Muslim Democracy may not end up being the purple fingers of the Iraqi ballots but the smoke from burning churches and dead Coptic Christians in Egypt. While Iraq was tenuously balanced between Shiites and Sunnis, Arabs and Kurds, there is no such balance in Egypt. The average Egyptian is a Sunni Arab and thinks Christians are dogs. Church burnings are as close as Egypt is ever likely to get to democracy and we should be happy for that.

The Muslim world is so enthusiastic about democracy because it allows the majority to slap around the minority—at least more so than it’s already doing. And when there isn’t a clear majority to sit in the driver’s seat, they throw in musical chairs coalitions of different ethnic and religious factions in between bouts of civil war.

Preparing for Euro Breakup – conference with MEPs Farage, Bloom and Professors W. Hankel, P. Bagus

‘Preparing for Euro Breakup’

• Conference held in the European Parliament, Brussels, on Wednesday, 12th October 2012, Room A1E2, from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

Two German professors join UKIP Leader Nigel Farage MEP and UKIP MEP Godfrey Bloom for a conference in the European Parliament in Brussels, 12 October 2011.

The conference was introduced by UKIP Leader Nigel Farage MEP, co-president of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy group (EFD), which sponsored the event, chaired by Godfrey Bloom MEP (UKIP).

Professor Wilhelm Hankel, who last year led the challenge to the euro bailouts in the German Constitutional Court, tackled the first topic: “Currency Union or Foreign Exchange Rate Union?” He was followed by Professor Philipp Bagus, who dealt with the “Practical steps to withdrawing from the Euro.”

Nigel Farage : what are they waiting for preparing a Plan B before the coming Euro breakup ?

Interview with Nigel Farage Co-President, EFD Group, UKIP

After Spain last week, France may lose its triple A credit rating, which would mean the Euro breakup. The Eurozone bailout strategy is not working. On the initiative of its President Nigel Farage, the EFD Group at the European Parliament launched, with a seminar last week in Brussels, the unavoidable debate about a Plan B.

Mugged by reality?

October 14, 2008: The Day the Economy as We Knew It Died

Hank Paulson’s “gun to the head” hijacking of TARP, and the sickening silence which followed.

October 14, 2011 – by Tom Blume

Almost everyone who believes in the Constitution and free markets properly considers October 3, 2008, one of the darkest days in U.S. history. It was on that day that the “Emergency Economic Stabilization Act” creating the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) became law. A day later, I wrote that law’s passage, accompanied by tactics and threats which amounted to orchestrated blackmail, over the strident objections of over 150 economists from across the political spectrum, only days after its initial voter-driven failure, proved that Washington’s politicians and elites “don’t care what we think.”

Abhorrent as it was, the sickening saga of TARP’s enactment was nothing compared to what transpired less than two weeks later.

Everyone’s understanding of the legislation — at least publicly expressed — was that it would, quoting from the bill’s text, authorize the Treasury Department “to purchase, and to make and fund commitments to purchase, troubled assets.” Specifically identified “troubled assets” included:

The Instability of Inequality

October 13, 2011 – Nouriel Roubini

New York – This year has witnessed a global wave of social and political turmoil and instability, with masses of people pouring into the real and virtual streets: the Arab Spring; riots in London; Israel’s middle-class protests against high housing prices and an inflationary squeeze on living standards; protesting Chilean students; the destruction in Germany of the expensive cars of “fat cats”; India’s movement against corruption; mounting unhappiness with corruption and inequality in China; and now the “Occupy Wall Street” movement in New York and across the United States.
