19. september 2011 – klumme af Katrine Winkel Holm

Stærke mediekræfter ønsker at bruge regeringsskiftet til at aflyse debatten om islamisering, ytringsfrihed og multikultur. Men begivenhederne overhaler ønskerne.

The Importance of Culture

By Roger Scruton from the September 2011 issue

It is culture that creates economics, and not the other way around.

Logo American Spectator

I first visited Greece 50 years ago, hitchhiking with a school friend from England, in search of the glorious world of Homer, Plato, and Thucydides. Of course, we didn’t find that world. But we found something almost as remarkable, which was a place where the church and the priesthood dominated rural life, where villages were self-contained communities, where local saints enjoyed their festivals and where the old dances were still danced in the village squares, men in groups, and women in groups, dressed in the costumes that survived from Ottoman days, and rehearsing the old drama of the sexes with marriage as its eternal dénouement. It was a country that had yet to enter the modern world. Its rhythms were those of the village, where debts and duties were local, and where sun, sleep, and surrender managed the day. It was inconceivable to a young Anglo-Saxon visitor that such a country could be judged in the same terms as Germany or France, or that it could play a comparable role in an economy that included all three countries as equal partners.

At one point, running out of money, I joined the queue at a hospital in Athens, where you could give blood and be paid in drachmas. The presiding doctor leaped up to welcome the tall red-haired youth, and turned away the two small men who preceded me, judging their blood to be useless. The names of my unsuccessful rivals were Heracles and Dionysus. It was the only sign offered to me during that first visit that these people were descended from the Greeks to whom our civilization is owed.

Palæstina vil anerkendes af FN

Terrororganisationen Hamas vil have Israel nedlagt.

Terror Matriarch Petitions UN

Mother of 4 terrorist murderers is chosen by the PA to launch statehood campaign.

Itamar Marcus, Nan Jacques Zilberdik – September 19, 2011

Logo Family Security MattersThe Palestinian Authority chose the mother of 4 terrorist murderers, one of whom killed seven Israeli civilians and attempted to killed twelve others, as the person to launch their statehood campaign with the UN.

In a widely publicized event, the PA had Latifa Abu Hmeid lead the procession to the UN offices in Ramallah and to hand over a letter for the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.

The official PA daily reported that she launched the UN campaign last week, and noted that she is the “mother of seven prisoners and of the Shahid (Martyr) Abd Al-Mun’im Abu Hmeid.” However, the paper did not mention that 4 of her imprisoned sons are murderers.

A Nervous Hamas Voices Its Issues With a Palestinian Bid for U.N. Membership

By Fares Akram and Ethan Bronner – September 18, 2011

Gaza – As West Bank Palestinian leaders head to the United Nations to seek membership for a state of Palestine, their rivals in Gaza, the Hamas faction, are watching nervously, complaining of not having been consulted and warning against any recognition of Israel or yielding of a refugee right of return.

The Palestinian Obsession

Caroline Glick – September 18, 2011

If nothing else, the Palestinians’ UN statehood gambit goes a long way towards revealing the deep-seated European and US pathologies that enable and prolong the Palestinian conflict with Israel.

In a nutshell, the Palestinian Authority – or Fatah – or PLO initiative of asking the UN Security Council and the General Assembly to upgrade its status to that of a sovereign UN member state or a sovereign non-UN member state is an act of diplomatic aggression.

PA to US: Veto at UN would ‘destroy’ two-state solution

By Khaled Abu Toameh – September 17, 2011

PLO official says statehood bid won’t affect Palestinians’ “right of return,” calls for nonviolent protests in support of effort at UN.

The Palestinian Authority on Saturday warned the US against using its Security Council veto to thwart its plan to seek UN membership for a Palestinian state this week.

A US veto would “destroy” the two-state solution, the PA said.

The European Caliphate

A refugee from the Muslim world sees it taking shape

by Clifford May – September 15, 2011

Logo National Review OnlineFor more than 30 years, Bat Ye’or, a refugee from Egypt, has been writing about dhimmis  — Christians and Jews living under oppression in Muslim lands. Now, she has a new book, Europe, Globalization, and the Coming Universal Caliphate, that looks at Muslims living in lands that once were Christian but today call themselves multicultural. She predicts Europe will not remain multicultural for long. She is convinced that Europe, sooner rather than later, will be dominated by Islamic extremists and transformed into “Eurabia” — a term first used in the mid-1970s by a French publication pressing for common European-Arab policies.

Immigrants can enrich a nation. But there is a difference between immigrants and colonists. The former are eager to learn the ways of their adopted home, to integrate and perhaps assimilate — which does not require relinquishing their heritage or forgetting their roots. Colonists, by contrast, bring their culture with them and live under their own laws. Their loyalties lie elsewhere.

Temple Denial

Muslimer gør krav på hvad som helst:

The Mounting Problem of Temple Denial

By David Barnett – August 29, 2011

Wailing Wall

Temple Denial is the belief that no Jewish Temple ever existed in Jerusalem. This claim, despite being counter to Islamic tradition, became internalized within Palestinian academic, religious, and political circles following the 1967 Six-Day War. Since the 2000 Camp David Summit, during which Yasir Arafat asserted that the Jewish Temple never existed in Jerusalem, “Temple Denial” has spread with increased virulence in an attempt to deny both Jewish authority and access to the Temple Mount and Western Wall.

On the ninth day of the 2000 Camp David Summit, Yasir Arafat, then Palestinian National Authority President, told President Bill Clinton that “Solomon’s Temple was not in Jerusalem, but Nablus.”[1] Arafat’s remark, known as “Temple Denial,” shook the foundation of the negotiations, as the leading Palestinian figure denied the existence of Judaism’s holiest site. Temple Denial is historical revisionism that runs counter to classical Islamic tradition and archaeological evidence. Since the 1967 Six-Day War, after Muslim control over the Temple Mount was lost to Israel, the belief that no Jewish Temple ever existed in Jerusalem has developed and become internalized within Palestinian academic, religious, and political circles. Since Camp David, Temple Denial has transformed into a virulent delegitimization campaign that attempts to deny both Jewish authority and access to the Temple Mount and Western Wall (or Wailing Wall) in Jerusalem.

Most migrants on a marriage visa have never visited the UK before

  • Of 40,000 immigrants, two-thirds had never previously set foot in the country
  • Issue ‘has been ignored for too long’, says minister

By Jack Doyle on 15th September 2011

Two-thirds of immigrants who come to Britain on a marriage visa have never before set foot in this country, it has emerged.

Logo Daily Mail Online

Every year some 40,000 migrants enter the country either to marry or to join an existing spouse – bringing with them another 9,000 children and other dependants.

An examination of Home Office files from 2009 revealed 67 per cent were coming here for the first time.

Immigrants have children for benefits, says Asian peer

14 September 2011

The UK’s first female Asian peer has used a debate in the Lords to criticise Pakistani and Bangladeshi families for having too many children.

Baroness Flather suggested people in some minority communities had a large number of children in order to be able to claim more benefits.

The peer, born in Lahore before the partition of India, said the issue did not apply to families of Indian origin.

Soft sentencing blamed for riot rampage as it is revealed two thirds had criminal past

That is despite rioters having amassed more than previous 16,000 offences between them – an average of 15 each

Britain’s navel-gazing politicians fail to see that they are locked in a battle for civilisation

By Melanie Phillips on 18th September 2011

The world may currently be convulsed by escalating cataclysms, but for British politicians the order of the day is navel gazing as usual.

The EU is about to implode, the UK economy is going under, urban youth in British cities have just burned down their neighbourhoods and the Arab world is in ferment.

And so what are the big talking points of the day in Britain? Gay marriage, bashing the rich and (a few days ago) cutting the length of the school holidays.

Muslim Bullies Shroud the True Face of 9/11

By Diana West | September 16, 2011

Muhammed Cartoon IconHaving passed the 10th anniversary of 9/11, I can now say with certainty that something major was missing from all of the ceremonies, the symbolism and the media coverage. It was something that not only captures the meaning of the attacks themselves, but better defines our response to them than any other single thing. It is the face of the age itself, and it is not Osama bin Laden’s.

I refer to the most familiar of the 12 Danish Muhammad cartoons, the one by Kurt Westergaard. I always think of this world-famous drawing as “Bomb-head Muhammad,” for the lit bomb that serves as Muhammad’s turban. (This is no fantastical image, as we learned last month when Afghan President Hamid Karzai prevailed upon local imams to implore their flocks to stop putting bombs in their turbans after three separate assassinations via turban bombs took place.)
