Anne Bayefsky om Egypten og FN

The People of Egypt Were Abandoned By the U.N. For 30 Years

By Anne Bayefsky | February 03, 2011

Logo FoxNewsThere is one main reason why the Obama administration misjudged Egypt entirely – they cannot get their facts straight. For the last two years they have been busy defending the U.N. as an effective vehicle for promoting U.S. interests, in the name of engagement.

But for the three decades of Hosni Mubarak’s reign the U.N. has dedicated its human rights apparatus to demonizing the state of Israel and ignoring the human rights victims in Egypt and across the Arab world. As dissatisfaction and unrest have grown in the region over his presidency, the Obama administration failed to recognize the U.N.’s gross negligence or to take responsibility for ensuring an alternative vehicle to promote democracy. Instead, it legitimized the U.N.’s top human rights body, the Human Rights Council (HRC), by joining it.

Det Muslimske Broderskab har infiltreret Obama-administrationen

Jamie Glazov interviewer Pamela Geller:

The Muslim Brotherhood’s Penetration of the Obama Administration

by Jamie Glazov – Feb 3rd, 2011

[...]FP: Pamela Geller, welcome to Frontpage Interview.

Well, perhaps for those who are familiar with your work and with your book, it is not a big surprise for them that Obama has endorsed a role for the Muslim Brotherhood in a new, post-Mubarak government for Egypt.

I would like to narrow in with you today about the Muslim Brotherhood’s penetration of the Obama administration. What can you tell us about this Islamist penetration of the White House?

Geller: Thanks Jamie.

The first thing we need to realize is that the Muslim Brotherhood operates in the United States under a variety of names and organizational umbrellas. Technically, there is no “Muslim Brotherhood” in the United States. But the Muslim American Society (MAS), the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and others are – according to a document captured in a raid and released by law enforcement in 2007 during the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding trial) – Brotherhood-linked organizations.

Robert Spencer on Fox Business: the Muslim Brotherhood, Michael Scheuer and Israel’s Right to Exist

Last night I was on Eric Bolling’s Money Rocks on Fox Business, along with Scott Wheeler, Garland Nixon, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Bo Dietl. We discussed the Muslim Brotherhood and the situation in Egypt, as well as Michael Scheuer’s rather alarming statement that neither Israel nor the U.S. have any right to exist.

Theodore Dalrymple revser “eliten”

En lidt spidsfindig artikel:

Logo The Social Affairs UnitThe British intelligentsia is unable or unwilling to distinguish between cultural elitism and social exclusivity – Theodore Dalrymple argues this explains the unutterable mediocrity of contemporary Britain

by Theodore Dalrymple – February 04, 2011

The often-remarked British obsession with class, which strikes me frequently as insincere in so far as those who denounce its iniquities usually wish to retain all their social and economic privileges while acquiring a reputation for generosity of spirit, has made the social engineering of supposed equality the aim of almost all public endeavour. Hospitals are not to treat ill people as best they can, but to close the gap between the healthiest and least healthy classes of society; schools are not to educate children, but to ensure that all children are educated, or at least miseducated, equally. And so forth.

Needless to say, we are no nearer equality than ever we were; indeed, on some measures we are farther away from it. The conclusion to be drawn from this, however, after more than sixty years of strenuous endeavour, or at least of the employment of very large bureaucracies, is that more must be tried. You don’t take no for an answer, even when the no emanates from the nature of things. Like heaven, equality can be stormed.

The spike in wheat prices was due to the shift to ethanol production

Will Ethanol Break the Muslim World After All?

By Daniel Greenfield – February 3, 2011

Logo Canada Free Press

Ethanol has proven to be an inadequate solution to the problem of foreign oil, but it has toppled at least one Arab ruler and may not be done yet. The Soros backed college students and the Islamists have done their part in the protests, but the Tunisian and Egyptian mobs would never have made their showing without a goad.

And the goad was high wheat prices. Part of the spike in wheat prices was due to the shift to ethanol production.

Remember when Americans were lining up with cans of gasoline during the OPEC oil boycott? Arab Muslims are now in the same boat, except with bread, rather than oil. Arab countries are frantically buying wheat, especially after the events in Tunisia and Egypt. Regime stability in the Middle East is now tethered to wheat prices. The Arab has prided itself on the power to pressure America using the price of oil, but the United States has now proven that it can do the same thing to the Arab world with the price of wheat. The price of oil may be climbing in America, but in Saudi Arabia the price of wheat is up by more than half.

Uriasposten om Danmarks Radio:

Et klart mønster tegner sig. Konservative medier får etiketten ‘højreorienteret’, hvorimod venstreorienterede får ‘uafhængig’, ‘velanset’ eller ‘troværdig’.
