Video: The Third Choice: Islam, Dhimmitude and Freedom

Fra den 21. januar 2010:

In the classical Islamic ideology of conquest, the first choice offered to non-Muslims was conversion to Islam; the second choice was the sword; and the third was surrender.  In The Third Choice, theologian Mark Durie critiques the history and ideology of surrender – the “third choice” – which determined the lived reality of dhimmis (non-Muslims) under Muslim rule.  The worldview of dhimmitude, it is argued, offers indispensable keys for understanding current trends in global politics, including the widening impact of sharia revival, deterioration of human rights for non-Muslims in Islamic societies, jihad terrorism, recurring patterns of Western appeasement, and the often fraught relationship between migrant Muslim communities in the West and their host societies.

Dr. Mark Durie is a theologian, human rights activist and pastor of an Anglican church.  He has published many articles and books on the language and culture of the Acehnese, Christian-Muslim relations and religious freedom.  A graduate of the Australian National University and the Australian College of Theology, Durie has held visiting appointments at the University of Leiden, MIT, UCLA and Stanford, and was elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities in 1992.

Lyden summer en ubetydelighed i starten, men det bliver bedre undervejs.

Video: muslimsk forfølgelse af kristne

Kedelig søndags-video. Kristne forfølges overalt i muslimske lande. Og i Europa. Her er dokumentation fra bla. Egypten, Libanon og England. Blandt de medvirkende er Brigitte Gabriel og Bat Yeor:

Why has there been a great-and little reported-Christian exodus from the Middle East, with some two million fleeing in the past 20 years alone?

This Christian exodus is a result of many factors, including the fighting between Israelis and Palestinians, the related decline of the economy, but perhaps most significantly, the religious persecution these Christians encounter from their Muslim neighbors.

“First comes saturday, then commes sunday “is a well known sentence in the Middle East meaning : “First we take care of the Jews (who pray on saturday) then we will take care of Christians, the “sunday people”

Pierre Rehov addresses again this alarming trend in his new film, a sequence of “Holy Land: Christians in Peril. The film is a documentary containing interviews with Christians as well as exclusive footage showing how dangerous their Situation is under Islamic rule.

Det vides ikke, hvornår filmen blev optaget. Via Kitman TV.

Og så til England – en BBC-produktion fra den 4. april 2010:

For years now, some town halls have been renaming their Christmas Lights as Winter Lights festivals. More and more Christians are ending up in court, defending themselves against what they see as victimisation for not being allowed to wear a cross to work or to pray for a patient. Many Christians feel that Christianity – once the heart of British society – is being pushed to the margins.

Nicky Campbell investigates whether Christians are being discriminated against. He explores the effects of multiculturalism and asks Muslims whether they are offended by Christmas Lights celebrations. Campbell also analyses the impact of recent human rights legislation and the Equality Bill: do they promote a more or less tolerant society? A poll specially commissioned for the BBC reveals what the public think.

If the Christian faith is being sidelined from the public space, is that a good or a bad thing? Campbell interviews Christians who claim they have been discriminated against, as well as leading religious and secular voices.

Uriasposten om Danmarks Radio:

Et klart mønster tegner sig. Konservative medier får etiketten ‘højreorienteret’, hvorimod venstreorienterede får ‘uafhængig’, ‘velanset’ eller ‘troværdig’.
